I agree with everyone else. A class is useful for the basics (and for me it really was for knowing that baby did not need a lot of milk initially, etc.) I took the class offered by the lactation consultant at the hospital DS was born in. She was phenomenal and visited me daily (I was there longer because I had a c-section). Both the class and the consultant were super helpful. It also helps to have a support system. It really makes all the difference to have someone to text or call to vent to or ask questions. They offer a weekly support group for free at my hospital as well (I am in upstate NY and I delivered at a woman's only hospital).
