C section question
I was with it. Mine was not scheduled. I hated not being able to clear my throat. I started getting feeling when I was in recovery. I did get sick from the block when I got to my room. I knew this would happen because I got sick after shoulder surgery.
I only had Motrin. I was in pain but it was bearable I guess. I could have percocets but last time I had them it made me sick so I opted to just have Motrin.

C section question
I had a emergency c section - i was put out and my daughter was put in the nicu right away. I woke up on morphine, it had to be one of the most painful situations in my life I have ever experienced.. I think c sections should be for emergencies or out of medical necessity. It all depends on the situation.

Completely with it. Knew what was going on the whole time. I actually had an awesome cs experience. I felt great and was pretty much back to normal routine when I went home.
Same!!!
same here
Well that blows my theory that they knocked me out more for twins.
i think i just got really lucky!

Re: C section question
with DS i had a c-section after 19 hrs of labor that didn't go anywhere. (not scheduled but not exactly an emergency) i was so nervous and my body was burning off the drugs so fast they gave me something "to relax" because of that i missed everything. I was floating in and out of consciousness the whole time and was incoherent. (i call it my first ever acid trip) had no clue when DH got there, had no clue when DS was born. i kept on waking up and asking DH where are we and what is going on over and over every five minutes. i woke up as my doctor was finishing my stitches. saw my family as they wheeled me to recovery. asked about my DS. my family all said he was perfect. they all met him before me! i had my c-section at 9pm, DS was born 9:45pm. i didn't meet him until 9 am the next morning when DH got there. I was so angry that my whole family got to meet him before me! DH said he did bring him to me to show him in the or but i remember none of it. I had about 5 minutes of alone time with DS before family descended on us. i definitely feel cheated from the experience and am going to do all i can to make sure the next one is a VBAC!

Re: C section question
I was an emergency cs. I was completely with it the whole time but I by no means had that magical family moment after, which makes me sad. DSs was having breathing issues so their focus was on him. I saw him for a second as the Took him out to get cleaned up and to the nicu for IVs etc. they wheeled me thru nicu to see Him briefly but then didnt see him til the next morning
Recovery wise i was fine during and after

Re: C section question
I was totally aware and with it for both my c/s's (DC#1 and DC#3). I was even talking with my OB both times, the first time guessing what we were having, the second time, my OB joking about tying my tubes
Great recoveries both times too. The only issue I ever had was the Magnesium drip I was put on after delivering #3. I had pregnancy induced high BP the entire pregnancy, so they did the Mg drip to prevent a high BP seizure. It totally slurred my speech and slowed my reaction time down. I hated it.

Re: C section question
First - not scheduled and very painful experience. The whole thing was like a fuzzy nightmare. I don't remember seeing my ds and was out of it for almost 24 hours.
Second-planned and was like a walk in the park!!
