I will be honest. Yes it did hurt. I made me feel like I had sex all day for a week straight. But that was the most painful part of the whole induction process for me and it was about a 5 out of 10 Chat Icon Good Luck!

Honestly..it did hurt when they were inserting it. I remember them explaining the whole process to me as they were doing it and I couldnt listen to a word.

I got petocin afterwards...

I dilated to 10 by the next day..BUT..wound up with an emergency c section because she just wouldnt descend (and thats after 3 hours of pushing!)

Induction is painful full stop, you can go from feeling completely normal to being in full blown labor in minutes. If you have an epidural early, it makes it a lot easier.

Didn't hurt going on, didn't really do much, except it was making on of my son's heart beat irregular so they had to pull it out earlier then anticipated. Nothing worked so I needed a c-section. I know others that it worked great for and had no issues.

My boys were 35 weeks and not ready to come out, one just needed to come out since he was not growing, so my reaction and 3days of being induced is not normal.

Good Luck!

With my first, I was induced, got cervidil, once I was in labor and dilating, they gave me pitocin.

I ended up with a c-section.

Re: Can you tell me your experience with Cervidil?

I didn't respond well the the Cervidil. They put it in and that didn't bother me in the least. But, I began dilating very quickly (I was 2cm to start and went to 3 in less than 45 minutes) and went into tentanic contractions. The baby went into distress and before I knew it 5 doctors/nurses rushed it. They were giving me shots and flipping me left and right. They got the baby stable and took out the Cervidil. The next morning I started the Pitocin and things went fine! 10 1/2 hours later DD was here!

It wasn't any different than having a pap...

but it didn't work for me .. I had to be given pitocin and I didn't open more than 7 and 1/2...ended up with a c-section.

Re: Can you tell me your experience with Cervidil?

I had an awesome induction with #2. The cervadil didn't hurt for me, a little uncomfortable going in. I got it at 11pm, and around 3am I started to have contractions so they gave me a dose of staidol (Sp??). At 10am they took the cervadil out and let me take a shower and eat breakfast. Around 11am, they started me on pitocin. I got my epi around 1pm and 4 hours later I felt the urge to push. At 5:15pm DS was born after 3 pushes.

To be honest, it didn't hurt me at all. However, it didn't work & they had to give me a CS

Same here. After the cervadil, I got pytocin and ended up with a CS after 24 hours since I wasn't dilating.

Re: Can you tell me your experience with Cervidil?

I got cervidil around 1:30pm. It was uncomfortable when being inserted, but it went away once it settled.

I had to wait a whole 12 hours before they removed itChat Icon Afterward around 2am they said I had dialated to 7 cm, so they were going to see how I progressed naturally. Cervidil def put me into full blown labor. I wasn't having any contractions until they induced me.

I progressed naturally and had DS at 7:23am. I guess I'm 1 of the few that Cervidil worked on.

I was nervous about pitocin, but thankfully I didnt need it.

I had it at about 8pm. It kinda felt like a tampon going in. I had it in till 8am the next morning, but honestly didn't feel a thing. Unfortunately neither that nor pitocin worked and I ended up with a c-section.

Re: Can you tell me your experience with Cervidil?

I got it at 7pm (hurt just a bit and then I didn't feel a thing after) brought on contractions every 2-3 minutes that were so painful I needed morphine. They checked me the next am and I was maybe 1cm Chat Icon.

They started the pitocen at around 7am w/ an epi. and dd was born at 7pm.

I had a good experience with the process. You can check out my birth story for more details.

I'm sure you will be fine!!!

My friend got cervidil and within 4 hours was 10cms and had her dd.
