Celebrity/icon deaths (2 part question)
From the tragedy that happened with Steve Irwin, it got me to think...what celebrities/icons from the past did you get upset about?
What celebrity that is living now do you think you would be upset for when they pass?

I was really upset when River Phoneix died. I had a huge crush on him in my teens, but I was very hurt when I found out he died from a drug overdose...he was always preaching about being clean, etc. It was my first glimpse into how people (especially celebrities since they are always in the public eye) are hypocritical.

Hmmm, Christopher Reeve was very sad, I was really upset with Jackie Kennedy b/c I adored her. Kryssy Taylor was sad. But I think the biggest one for me was River Phoenix. Ugh, that was a shocker.

Selena, JFK Jr, the pope, and Princess Di all got me very upset. JFK Jr. i actually went to his apartment while they were still looking for him.
If someone was to pass today.... Bono, any one from Duran Duran. And I can't think of anyone else right now.

I was upset when Kurt Cobain died and River Phoenix too. I'm still upset about Steve Irwin.
I think if Robert DeNiro died, I would be upset.

I cried real tears when John Candy died- l loved every movie he ever made.
I was really upset when Steve Irwin died- I was at his wild animal park in Australia just a few years ago. He also has young kids so that made me so sad.

Sadly, I am old enough to remember when John Lennon died and the impact it had on everyone. My siblings are significantly older than I am so I had a lot of exposure to music that kids of my age group typiclaly did not listen to. I knew that the Beatles were huge and I knew this was a big deal. to this day, when I hear "Woman, " I always think that he left the world too soon.

I liked the older actors. I was very sad when George Burns dies, Jack Lemmon, Walter Mathau and I will be very very sad when Estelle Getty dies. I loved her on the Golden Girls and was sad to hear, when they did their reunion a while back she wasn't able to make it because of failing health!

Princess Di - because it was so avoidable. She was hunted like no person ever should be.
These days - I'm going to say Nicole Richie. It won't be surprising in the least, but seeing someone struggle (and she is struggling no matter who says differently) like that with weight issues hits close to home.

Dave Matthews died, Tom Hanks, Winona Ryder, etc.
I wasnt the biggest fan of Steve Irwin but it really is bothering me for some reason. Its so sad.

Princess Di, Mister Rogers, John Candy, Chris Farley, Michael Hutchence, Eddie Guerrero ( a pro wrestler whose heart just stopped one day....I cried real tears for him & his family).
I think when Notorius BIG and Tupac were killed I was flabbergasted that famous people would get caught up in such infantile antics.
Who would I be upset over if they died:
geezz.....toughie.....maybe not upset perse, but affected
maybe Madonna
Will Farrell (not cause he's iconic or anything, but he is hysterically funny)
