Watch your statements, Credit card scanners and data at Target retail outlets were breached starting on Black Friday through Dec 15th.

Yeah, I was one of them! Someone purchased $3k on my credit card, so I had to put a fraud alert and cancel my credit card with my bank! Just what I want this holiday season to be without a credit card!!
ETA: Target has stated this AM that it affects 40 million people.
In my case, the scammers raked up 6-purchases of $500 each on my credit card.

Its all credit cards if they were used at Target. I just tried calling Target customer service to check my red card and I cant get through. This is frustrating!!

How did the fraudulent transactions appear on your bank stmt? Does it show a different city where the purchase occurred? I'm checking my stmt now because I can't get on the red card site, too much traffic.

this is so frustrating!
did they say what they are going to do - are they issuing new cards for account holders just to be safe? or are we just to monitor our statements (that we cannot access)!?!

How did you get on? I have been trying for an hour :(
it took me a good 30 minutes.. I just kept trying and it went super slow.
My redcard is fine and I use that the most but just checked all my other cards too (i will randomly use them) and they look good too.

I have their debit RedCard.......nothing out of the ordinary in my bank account. I checked the one credit card I use there on occasion and nothing going on there either.
They never said on the news if they were using any of this information yet, just that it was obtained and likely to be used to make new fraudulent cards.
Maybe it will take a little while before anything would actually show up on statements or in accounts.

I wish I had a dollar for every time my credit card was breached.
It happens several times a year over a few different cards.
Luckily the credit card companies discover it before I do and take care of it.
But it's just annoying get a new card with a new # constantly!

Which target did you shop at?
Where are the fraudulent charges being made? In the details it lists a state sometimes.

All retail stores, nationwide. All cards, not just Target cards. 40 million visas, mastercards, debit cards, any card that was swiped through their machine at a register.

same. I have a bunch of Chase credit cards that always get hacked for some reason. Chase usually calls or sends a text right away.
I only use my Red Card at Target though, so I will have to see when the statement comes in.

Sorry it took me so long to see this.
I used my regular bank MasterCard. My bank contacted me asking if the purchases were legit b/c they know my spending history and we said no and they started the shut down process on the credit card I used.

East/South Setauket on Pond Path.
Plus one in Penfield, NY when I was up visiting family at the holidays. Not sure which one got it, or both.
