I just have to laugh at how serious people are about this topic. Even to go so far as to criticize other people's parenting skills for letting their child eat in the store. Who freaking cares as long as they pay for it. There are bigger fish to fry in the world of parenting!

Curious to see what everyone's thoughts are on this-
I wouldn't have responded to this, except that it was quite possibly was me! I do this frequently. Sometimes, I don't have time to pack a snack and so I give my son a healthy banana from the pile. Most times I pop the peel in a bag and tell the cashier we ate a banana or two. She charges me. Occasionally, in the fun time that it is to shop with a 2.5 and 4 year old (please don't call the cops) I forget. I don't think this is much different than the cold cut man giving me (which I usually turn down) a slice of cheese or bologna from the order he is cutting me. If people get their panties in a bunch about this, that's ok. Just means they don't have any real worries in their lives. Or they are trying to forget them.

Exactly! It's a freaking banana. I always have snack in my bag for my dc, but if we are out and she asks for something I'll give it to her and just have the cashier ring it up.

If the person is paying for it, I have absolutely no problem with them giving food to their child to eat while in the supermarket.
