Details emerge in Cobb Co. Georgia toddler death investigation
I can't get this out of my head. I made myself physically sick last night with a migraine to the point I had to shut off the lights, tv and felt like I could vomit.
I really, really cannot understand how a parent could do this. I won't even close the door when I put dd in the car while I'm putting her stroller in the trunk.

I'm the same way. I will turn the car on w/ the a/c or windows open before shutting the door just to go around to the other side to get in just out of fear that god forbid the door locks and I can't get her out quick enough.

Clearly I'm in the minority, but I refuse to judge this man until all the etails come out in the case. Heartbreaking story either way.
Oh please. Seriously????
He's a piece of $hit.

He did RESEARCH on how long before an animal/person would die from being locked in a car!!!!!
Who on earth does that????? EVER!!
Clearly his goal was to kill his son. NOBODY forgets about their child for 8 hrs in a hot car AND even when he goes back to his car midday still doesn't realize.
He deserves to be JUDGED and TORTURED for what he did to that poor baby.
There is WAY too much info coming out to give that "person" any benefit of the doubt.
ETA - I'm sorry, I just cannot understand how anyone could feel anything other then utter disgust and hatred for this "man". What he did, and he DID do it whether intentionally or otherwise, is sickening.

can you imagine ... if he had still been alive when the father went out to check... and he saw his father and then the father walks away? I seriously think I may have given up on humans
That just kills me to think of that and the poor little guy seeing his dad walking away when he was in such distress. How could a human being to that to a baby. He needs to be strapped helpless in a car for 7 hours just like his son was, suffer what he made him suffer through

If you don't want to be a Dad anymore, then pack up your bags and move out. Leave your family. Move across the country.
You'd still be a piece of shit, but there is no need to murder your baby. This man deserves much worse than being locked in a hot car. MUCH worse.

This is the image that haunts me. Thinking for a moment that daddy has come back only to be left alone again.
I cannot shake that. I am in tears writing this.
I see how my DS gets excited for me when I just come out of the bathroom... This child saw his dad, a person he probably loved and was genuinely excited for and... he just left him there to die. Repeatedly.
There is no torture on this earth good enough for this person, I'm sorry. May he bake in the fiery pits of hell for all eternity.

So I mostly agree with you that it's completely unimaginable to leave my child in the car without realizing (esp after several trips back to the car). I mean I really cannot imagine doing it. I always put my bag in the backseat after hearing about the teacher that killed her child when she left him while she was at work.
ALL THAT SAID, I google searched almost exactly that phrase last week!! I was at Ralphs with my kids and there was all this commotion outside because a woman had left her dog in the car for over 2 hours!! The cops were there and about to break the window and I could not believe the dog was still alive/conscious. It was an insanely hot day and the whole situation was so disturbing to me that I came home and google searched, "how long can an animal be in a hot car before death/injury."
So I guess I feel like since I just googled that with no bad intent it could have been the same for him? I don't know I guess I have to believe that no one could do this to their kid on purpose. Do they even know if it was him that did the google search or someone else in his office?

Details emerge in Cobb Co. Georgia toddler death investigation
I'm crying reading this. If you don't want a child or animal give them away. There is no excuse. I don't like putting dd in the car when its hot till its cooled off a little. This child suffered so inhumanely. I can just imagine him screaming for mommy and daddy, not understanding what was happening. I just don't get it. Now I'm crying harder.
The pos should be killed. No questions just stuck in a sauna till he dies.

You may not understand how I could feel this way, but I can.
I can tell you that I personally have googled how long it takes an animal to die in a hot car. With this time of year comes all the Facebook posts about people seeing dogs left in cars and the conversations that surround that. It is not beyond the realm of possibilities that more people have googled the same thing. Additionally, I don't know the details of this man's car. If he has tinted windows and he went back to his car at lunch to put something inside...the FRONT seat as reported...it is entirely possible that with a rear facing car seat in the back, he didn't look. Especially if he thought the child was at daycare.
On a regular basis, I stop during the day to wonder if my children are where they should be. Some days I drop them both off, other days my DH drops them both off, some days I drop one and he drops the other, and other days someone not in our family drops them off and someone else picks them up. It's not crazy to me that someone thinks they were dropped off because they are thinking of the events from yesterday and they are wrong.
It's interesting to me how people responsible for watching children who drown in pools aren't vilified for not watching the child closely enough just like people who leave their kids in cars are. Most times I see people showing empathy and sympathy for those who have to live with the consequences of not watching the child. It seems like both instances (letting a child fall in a pool and drown and leaving a child in a car) are both horrible accidents.
If it turns out that this man did this on purpose, then of course I look at him as the same monster you do. But for me, I cannot come to that conclusion until all the facts are out. Right now, the information presented isn't enough to convince me he meant for this to happen. Maybe it's the part of me that needs to believe that humans aren't monsters.

Yep. the whole "what if" What if he was a diabetic? . What if someone else did and just looked like him?
What if this, what if that
Then a jury has to acquit.

No, thank GOD that did not happen. But I'm human and I've made terrible mistakes that could have ended up in a horrible tragedy and thankfully they did not.
And you know what, personally I feel like opinions like mine are the ones that we should have more of. I don't believe in rushing to judgement until all the facts are presented. I thought the saying was "innocent until proven guilty". Not the other way around.
You don't have to understand my opinion, but it doesn't make me a bad person for not agreeing with you.

I'm still standing by my initial opinion. I don't care if if was intentional or a "mistake"....that child died because of this man. He deserves jail time no matter what.
