Thats why I'll only buy German cars

I'm just looking at the pictures again, and if you look at the first picture, you can see that the trunk of the BMW is non-existant. It was totally smashed in. It was a 7 series, which is a decent-sized car! 
I'm still in shock that we are ok - not a drop of blood from either of us.
My next car will most likely be another VW - it saved our lives!
I was just going to say you were lucky you were in a VW that is all I drive now. I have since I was in a really bad car accident back in HS and all I drove from that point on was VW Jetta!!! Live Savers!!! Glad you guys are ok.

Hi everyone!
Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers.
I think today is the worst day with the pain so far. DH and I are going to be heading to our doctor to get checked out whenever we can find the strength to shower and get dressed. I don't think I'll be able to wear regular pants - the bruising and swelling is THAT bad on my hips.  DH is having trouble breathing I feel like someone is jabbing me with a hot hurty poker under my left boob  Laying down and sitting up are terrible because the muscles in our necks are out of whack.
MrsYank - Yup. That was us. Sunrise Highway in Baldwin heading west around 3:15 on Saturday.
I'll update when we get back from the doctor. We are also going to go to where my car is and see what we can salvage from it. I had a ton of stuff in the trunk.
