Re: Do you avoid BP Gas Stations?
There's a BP down the road from me but I never get gas there bc I like my guys at the full serve next door.
It's not that I'm making a conscious effort to avoid them, there's honestly not many near me for me to go to, but I do think that if I were given a choice between, say, BP and a Shell/Citgo/etc...I'd choose the latter.
It may not be a big issue to some, and thats fine, but if in my small way I think I'm making a decision that runs parallel to my morals/ethics, then thats what I will do.
ETA: I understand the hurting local business owners aspect, but I didn't go to BP before, and I won't now.
My choice.

yes, i do. i know they're independently owned but i cannot give money to a company that i so despise.
You're probably still giving them money. They sell to more gas stations than just the BP branded ones.

Re: Do you avoid BP Gas Stations?
Sorry but I try to think of all the other people who work for the company and not so much on the big corporate idiots.
Plus there are no BP's close to where I live but if I was on "E" and that's the only thing around then yes I would'nt hesitate to use them.

you're right, but since i don't know who they sell to, it's the only thing i can do. i wish i knew who they sold to and i wouldn't patronize them either

Re: Do you avoid BP Gas Stations?
There are BP's on both sides of my house. There is also an Exxon but I have to make an illegal turn to get in there, so I go to BP. If I'm headed the other way, I'll go to Exxon sometimes too.
I am disgusted by whats going on in the Gulf but they're really my only choice right here.
I also agree that it hurts the small business owner and that boycotting them gets you no where..

Re: Do you avoid BP Gas Stations?
Nope. The gas stations are such a miniscule part of their business, you really aren't hurting BP when you avoid them. At the same time, they are the highest price gas around me so I don't normally go there anyway.

No, I still go to the one around the corner from my house.

Re: Do you avoid BP Gas Stations?
There are no BP's near me, I usually go to Getty which is full serve, or Gulf, which is close to me, or Sunergy or Sunoco

Re: Do you avoid BP Gas Stations?
Am I avoiding them?? Not really. Do I buy gas there, no, but I didn't before the disaster in the Gulf. There are 3 BP stations I could possibly go to. All three of them average more per gallon than the next closest station. I see no reason to spend the extra money.
