I have it in my apartment and I love it. However, my house has a ton of windows and ceiling fans in every room so it doesn't get used all that often. It isn't very shaded either, so sun does beat down on the house. We mainly use it when it is VERY humid, I hate that sticky feeling.

I NEED AC. I am a sweaty sleeper.
We have CAC, but I miss the regular AC - turning it on and standing in front of it - you don't get that blast of cold air from CAC.
If it were up to me - I'd have AC units in every room instead of CAC.

We had ours installed just after the previous big snowstorm, so we haven't used it yet... 
We've had window A/Cs before, and even then, it was often unbearable in the summer. We also added ceiling fans and a whole house fan, plus redesigned the airflow in the house, so we might not need the A/C as much as we used to.

When we bought the house, all the ducts were installed already for CAC. We still have to buy the actual unit and hook it up. We probably won't do that for a few years, if at all.

It was in our house when we bought it. I generally hate AC, but I love our CAC. You barely know the AC is on b/c its not that blowy air & we keep it at a comfortable temperature but never freezing.

We have it & absolutely love it.
It was one of the must haves when we were looking. It is truly amazing to get out of the shower in the dead of the summer & not sweat up before putting your clothes on

Nope. We essentially live in a brick oven (very old brick and plaster house). It would be next to impossible to install central air. We make do with a portable unit in our bedroom at night for sleeping.
