You are talking about the Rhogam Factor. If you have a negative blood type and your partner is positive, at 28 weeks (or if you have any bleeding during your pregnancy) you get a shot.
Just had mine done a month ago. Didn't hurt at all.
I had to have the shot also. I am O- and DH is O+. It didnt hurt at all.

This is going to sound horrible but...
See, I was told that they don't test DH because they need to protect the woman and baby no matter what.
I believe this in 1000% true.
I am coming to the end of my third and last pregnancy. I am AB-. I have no idea what my husband is. I had that shot when I miscarried my first. I had the shot again at 28 weeks with my daughter. They tested her at birth and she was B- so I didn't have to have it. I had it again with this pregnancy at 28 weeks and I may have to have it when this baby is born it depends on the baby's blood type. It is not a big deal it is a small pinch. Some get it in the butt my doc does it in the arm.
They will test your blood at your first OB appointment. My husband still has no idea what his blood type is.

Yep A- here too. DH is +, DS is O+. I had a few Rhogam shots b/c I had some bleeding during my PG.

I am A - also and I am praying DH is
He is going tomorrow to get his blood tested
I think as long as he is any "negative" its OK; doesnt have to be A; but i could be wrong
I'm sure people will let me know if i am LOL HA!! joke LOL
