No. I worked from 9 am this morning and got home about 10 minutes ago (12:30 am). Yesterday, I got to work at 8 am and left at 10:00 pm.

I used to stay past 5:00 may times. I had power point presentations and other deadlines that had to be met before I left. I always wanted to take care of every last detail before I left for the day. Too bad, those good qualities of mine did not save me from becoming laid off.

I don't understand the idea of leaving on time...

My hours are 8 to 330. I typically work 730 to 500. And then do an additional hour of grading or planning at home.

Yesterday, I worked 715-4:15, then took a class 445-715, then got home and did work for over an hour.

I'm in early, take a short lunch and leave later than 5. I do not check emails on weekends and I try my hardest not to check emails while on vacation. I need my down time and have to tell myself my office can function without me.

I'm fortunate enough that my day ends when I'm done with my work. It's part-time and once I do what I need to do, that's it. Some days take me longer than others, but it's nice to have a little flexibility.

Our hours are about 9:30-6 pm but I worked it out when I started that I needed my hours to be about 9-5:30.

Usually I am here around 9:10 or so and leave at 5:20 to catch my train to get home to my kids! But there are alot of days that I am in MUCH earlier. Last week, two days of the week I was in at 6:30 am and 7am! I also work most nights too - I sign back on to my work computer after the kids go to bed so i can do more work. We deal alot with CA and they are still working till 7 pm PT usually which is 10 pm our time.

I work from 8 to 5. I leave right on time.....

For the most part, the rest of the office works from 8:30 to 5... they never stay till 5:30 like they should for coming late (we have 2 shifts so 8:30 to 5:30 or 8 to 5)...

and my mgr comes in at like 9 if he comes to the office, but he stays past 5, I just don't know how far past.

I usually work 12pm-8pm and since I've just recently moved to Lynbrook (I work in Queens) I leave at 7:58pm but don't tell my boss that

Before then it really depended on who was around and such. Since I am considered a supervisor, I usually would give last minute late night requests to the staff staying until 10pm...now I just tell them at 7:30pm what I want done or need done.

i mean, it really depends on where you work. at my job we have a 'clock in' machine. you are PROHIBITED to clock in three minutes before your shift... unless instructed by a manager to do so which has only happened to me once in over a year. the same thing goes for clocking out - you must clock out NO later than three minutes past your scheduled time or else it is OT for the company and they get pissssed. again, unless asked to stay -- for me, i always offer if it is busy to clock in early and stay late --- that is really the ONLY way to "show initiative" where i work. and they appreciate that - more than that, not much you can do and it did not stop me from getting a promotion. but, again, every job is different. where i work you could actually get a DEMOTION or written up for staying late.

Pre-kid I was not a clock-watcher. Now I keep regular hours and rarely stay late. I purposefully took a job that allowed for that.

I do work for a couple of hours every weekend though, but from home.

I leave about 5-10 minutes after 'quitting time'.
