Re: Do you use Energy Efficient Light Bulbs
We have them in most ever room. When they burn out then all the rooms will be done. We still need to do the outdoor lights too. We have gotten used to the bathroom lights when we walk in there. It just takes a couple of moments to warm up, not that big of a deal to us. I don't worry about the Mercury either. We have mercury in so many things....it's is fish and we eat it. So just open a window if one breaks and it's fine. There is such a small amount in the bulbs, that you would have to break many of them every day for years probably before they would ever effect your health. There is always something that isn't good for us out there and we have all lived this long, that is how we look at it. This is JMO.

There are dimmable CFLs, as well as 3-way CFLs. I've seen the dimmable and 3-ways at HomeDepot.
They also have flame-shaped ones.
When did you see the 3-ways??? Right before Christmas I was told (at Home Depot) that they aren't made.

2 or 3 months ago. I was looking specifically because I found them on-line, and posted about them in a thread here, but wanted to see if there were any IRL, since I know that I don't plan on mail ordering one light bulb.... They've been around well before last Christmas. Maybe not easy to find, but they were definitely available last year.

Re: Do you use Energy Efficient Light Bulbs
As the old ones are burning out we are switching over, but it takes a few to find the right light. Some are just so harsh. We found that the natural white looks best since all of our ceiling fixtures have golden covers and that creates a bright color that is crisp and clean. It does take time I have about 4 that are horrible to look at but they go in the basement since I don't spend much time down there.

I voted Nope, I don't think they are worth it BUT I DO think they're worth it (that was the only no option). I just hate the bad quality of light and the disposal... so until we HAVE to use them, I prefer not to. But I DO believe that they do make a difference.
