Does this happen a lot in your office? (V-day related)
Or do you do this yourself too?
It seems to happen every single year- no matter where I work.
Someone will get flowers from their DH or boyfriend for Valentine's Day.
Then they will rant on and on about how they are going to kill him. How they TOLD him not to send flowers. How flowers are such a waste.
I don't know- I am not a big fan of the holiday either. And yes, flowers are a waste. Yes, they die. Yes they are overpriced at this time of year.
But when my DH sends them I still appreciate them. I appreciate the thought.
I wouldn't call him up and yell at him...to me, that's just mean.
I am assuming that he, as an adult, can make an adult decision if we can afford them or not and if he decides we can afford the splurge, so be it.
I don't know...it just kind of bothered me today when this woman got a gorgeous arrangements and started flipping out on her DH about it.
I wanted to tell her to shut up and enjoy them!

Typically I hear this with people who are looking for attention. Bragging disguised as b*tching kind of thing.
If my husband sends me flowers, I say thank you to people who notice and comment on them. That's it. I appreciate the gesture and tell (and show) my husband my appreciation.

Yup, happens here. It's all a cry for attention...she just wants people to notice the effing flowers.
I think the one here sends them to herself and then rants about it!

I haven't seen that much around here. DH sent me flowers on Friday here to my office and I was stunned. I had NO idea he was sending them and was so excited. However, I did make a comment that he wasn't completely thinking because the flowers were addressed to my maiden name

so far no one has had flowers delivered to them in the 5 years i have worked here but if i got flowers i would be so freaking happy.

Yes he should have and so glad that he did!!
We can't really get flowers here, its a whole big deal b/c its a government building but I wish we could!!!!

Yes, it's annoying!
I find it very annoying people who bash their spouse openly for all to hear.
Woman... enjoy your bouquet! Yell at your DH tonight. But what about discussing VD's expectation first!!!! It's probably not her 1st VD with him.

DH & I do not like public displays of affection & sending flowers to work (for us) falls right into that catagory. After dating for 10 years most of our family only first saw us kiss at our wedding.
I personally feel that is all just a show & cry for attention. I actually feel bad for that guy.
