I know I am in the minority with how I feel on this........... Was it possible she was embarrassed and that was how she dealt with it? I wouldn't necessarily assume automatically that she wanted attention, because if that was her intent, she easily could have said "aw I have the best husband, he is so good to me..how did I get so lucky?," etc, kwim? I am one of those people where if I get a compliment publicly , I always have to knock it down..because I hate being put in the spot light , even if its for something good. As far as flowers sent to work, I hate it. Always have. An old boyfriend would do that and I hated it...here is why: he would always send them just to work..not home. Then he'd ask what everyone thought of them, etc. It was like he was doing it just for show, instead of a nice gesture just for me. My DH knows I'd die if he ever sent flowers to my job. I WOULD be angry and not find it sweet, because it completely goes against my wishes. Not everyone wants to be put on display like that, even if it IS sweet. Then again, I have cried and begged to never have to go through being a victim of a surprise party again...I found it to be traumatic. So maybe I am just weird.

Typically I hear this with people who are looking for attention. Bragging disguised as b*tching kind of thing.

If my husband sends me flowers, I say thank you to people who notice and comment on them. That's it. I appreciate the gesture and tell (and show) my husband my appreciation.

Didn't someone do this yesterday here on LIF? I'm almost positive I commented yesterday on someone who was complaining about receiving flowers at work.

Yes - it was me - and what I did today when I got the flowers, the same thing I wrote THREE times on my post yesterday - called my hubby and said thank you a million times. I didn't walk around my office complaining about my bad husband - a little different no?

Well that's good!! You're right, totally different situation. Sorry to single you out. I just thought it was random that these two posts would be up simultaneously.
