I really find the tandem ones to be bulky but I could completely wrong since I'm strictly going by looks.

The Kolcraft tandem is a GIANT PITA, a fiend of mine has one and she struggles with it all the time, you have to take the seats off to fold it and then re attach the seats when your ready to use it and it's really heavy, she hates it. I would go for the city mini double.

Honestly? I hate all strollers

My side by side is a lot lighter but a pain to get thru doorways. My tandem is nice but SO heavy, although it does steer very well.

Just based on going shopping, for walks etc... I'd find a good tandem.

I can only speak from what I have which is the city mini double. I love it and use it with the carseat adapter bar.
Never tried the other but it looks enormous.

i played with the kolcraft in store and couldn't deal with it. the fold is HUGE and it's so heavy, too.

I opted to buy a maclaren side by side instead. i think it's really just all about your personal needs/preference. I plan on having this guy out of the infant seat the same time DS1 was (by 5 mos), so I really didn't NEED something that the infant carrier snapped into.

Someone is giving us a single snap n go AND I have a bjorn, so I think we'll be fine.

i know this isent one of your options but i love my indie twin. (i like side by side better)
my friend has the city mini double and she wishes she got the indie twin - it seems like alot more money but when u start adding all the options its almost the same cost.

also the adapter for the infant seat for the city mini seems like it sticks so far out.

I obviously have zero experience but that tandem one looks like a monster. The City Mini Double is adorable and they are great strollers so I'm sue you will love it!

I like side by side. I have a Peg Perego Aria Twin, it's so light weight...I love it!

side by side! I know its a PITA to go into stores, but I think the tandem is dangerous. If you live in an area where you cross streets, its really hard to judge the spacing on the sidewalk and how far in the street the first stroller is. I don't like that its so far away from mom.....I vote side by side.

We ended up buying the Combi side-by-side. All the tandem ones were so bulky and very heavy. I plan to use the baby carrier and the Snap and Go for the baby at first until he's out of the carrier. DS was out of the carrier by 5 months, so then I can switch to the regular stroller.

we have the combi sbs!! love love love it!!! this is the second time ive had this stoller bc my boys were 16 months apart and now we have the twins. it's great. not too wide and easy to fold!! very light weight and fits through everything bc it's the width of a wheelchair.

Comparing my citi mini and the double snap and go I would much rather negotiate places with the citi mini. I feel like I am constantly knocking things over in stores with the double snap and go

Obviously don't have a double yet, but a friend has the City Select Double for her 20 mo old and 5 mo old and swears by it. That thing is expensive though!

We're going with the City Mini. I wanted a side by side and loved it when I tried it in the store.

Side by side is really so big for the stores.

We had the sit and stand deluxe and I do really like it. I can maneuver easily through the stores and you can also snap the infant seat into it.

What's the age difference going to be? Jack was 27 mnths when Ty was born and we really didn't use a double on a regular basis for awhile. I bought a double the second I found out I was pregnant and ended up selling it (it was the Easy Walker Duo - but it was too heavy)

Honestly, I think you should sit on it and wait it out until you have the baby. You will see what your needs are then. As someone else mentioned - the Peg Perego Aria Double looks really good. I think I would get that if I had to buy a double now.

Also, keep your eyes open on the Buy/Sell thread. I bet by the time you need one someone will be selling a double.

My girls were 19 months apart and I had both the tandem and the side by side. I had the graco duoglider first and hated it! I felt like I was pushing a school bus! It was so big and bulky and heavy! I then got the citi mini double and it was wonderful! I used it all the time. It was light, easy to fold, easy to push, and I had no problem getting through doorways. The citi mini double is actually the same width as a standard wheel chair so getting through doorways was no problem. I did have some problems in certain stores if they were really packed or the aisles were narrow.
