Early Intervention 6month eval
My DD just had her 6 month eval and they are telling me she doesn't qualify for PT anymore even though the PT is saying she still needs it and wants to change her from night time. AFOS to daytime due to toe walking. Do I have any chance in fighting this? She just started PT in July after not getting it for all of June bc there weren't any pts....

DD didn't technically qualify after her 6 month eval either but the PT recommended she continue since a lot of the skills she got credit for were brand new and still shaky. She thought she would fall behind if PT was discontinued. She said she'd recommend keeping at least once a week (we had been getting twice a week) and that it would be up to the county person to make the decision. They ended up approving once a week and I also asked for a mommy and me group once a week which they also approved. The county person was having a really crazy day so we may have sort of lucked out that she didn't have the energy to fight it but who knows. BTW, this was suffolk county.

Re: Early Intervention 6month eval
That is strange. I know when DS had his 6 month eval, all of his therapists wrote their own report which went to the county EIOD. So if the therapist wrote in the report that the scores were still low then they would approve me for continued services.

Re: Early Intervention 6month eval
did you have the meeting yet? sometimes the scores do not reflect the child's weaknesses and the therapist can add this in the narrative.
