For all the potty training Moms.....
...I just have to say that Potty Training is BY FAR the hardest part of parenting so far for us.
Seriously, everything else has come so naturally, but I am questioning every single move with this.
Please tell me I am not alone. Please tell me that it is frustrating for others.

Re: For all the potty training Moms.....
you are not alone...it's definitely hard.
They have their own mindset now, so trying to teach them something gets harder and harder. I have been told by many a BTDT mother that Bella is AHEAD of most children. She won't be three for over two months and is almost there with potty training. I was at a party where her kid was almost 4 and still resisting heavily. I don't want to pressure her and make her hate it or be afraid of it.
Accidents will happen and they will be potty trained in due time.

Re: For all the potty training Moms.....
ITA, plus I feel this is one major part of parenting that I feel a lot of pressure to hurry up and master. DS will be 2 at the end of this month and he is not displaying the signs they say to look for so I know he isn't ready, but I feel SO MUCH PREESSURE FROM EVERYONE to get him potty trained yesterday. I have the potty, he sits on it when he wants to, but no action yet. I feel like other moms, especially, look down on me or my child because he isn't potty trained. I HATE that.... I saw a picture of Suri Cruise and she is still in diapers ( i think she is about 3 mos older than DS) I was actually happy to see she isn't potty trained, lol!!!

Re: For all the potty training Moms.....
You know what, Melissa, I felt the same way when we first started and even well before that. It's like, "How do you tell someone what it's like to control their bladder and bowels and THEN make them do it??"
For months, she watched Elmo's Potty Time, she saw the potty every day, she even used it once or twice, bribed her with stickers, candy, but NOTHING, no interest. This went on for more than 6 months.
I have to say though...when she was ready, she was ready, really like a light went on and it's been--and I truly hate to say this--pretty easy!
Hang in there!!

Re: For all the potty training Moms.....
I do feel the pressure also. My sister's DD is 5 months younger then mine and has been 100% trained since April, even at night. And while she's been totally supportive about saying maybe Emily isn't ready yet, I also feel like I can't turn back now (4 days w/o diapers, I can't go back) and I just wish it was as Easy as it was for her DD.
Plus I am hoping to have Emily in school in September and the program requires her to be potty trained.
