I took percocet the whole time I was in the hospital. I didn't feel I needed it by the time I could leave!

I only took Perc's at night before I fell asleep. I hate meds in general.

I took prescription strength Motrin to help with the pain during the day. Honestly... the recovery wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Painful, yes, but definitely not as bad as severe contractions!

I did hurt when I had to sneeze. Oh boy did it HURT!

The first time I only took motrin because the vicodin made me sick.

The next time I smartened up and took whatever they offered me. Percoset, Ambien, Morpheine I was in a lot of pain.

I took the percocets in the hospital and weaned off before I came home.

I'm allergic to Motrin & Advil, so, had to stick with Tylenol the rest of the time.
It honestly, wasn't that bad.

I did not take them for Abby. She was in the NICU for 9 days. I could not risk my judgment being impaired by narcotics while she needed me to make medical decisions for her and vicodin they offered, would have made me catatonic. In that situation, I just put my big girl panties on and dealt with the pain as the pain of my child in the NICU was far worse than any incisional pain I ever had.

For Jeremy I took Percoset at night just before bed. I did not have him in my room with me overnight. The recovery from the second c-section for me was FAR worse.

I did not take any narcotic pain releivers at home.

(i couldnt eat anything for 2 weeks, lost 31 lbs by 2 weeks PP?) i guess ill stay away from it next time!

I was in so much pain with my c-section. I couldnt even sit up on my own with hysterical crying. It was that bad. I know the weird feeling many of u are talking about but I was still able to function on it..After I left the hospital I took it for a week..then only at night. By the second week i was still in pain but only took 800mg of motrin.

I only took tylenol and motrin. I was EBFing, so no good drugs for me. I honestly think that when you have a baby, your "mommy" insincts take over and you don't care how much pain you are in and you know you just need to take care of that little person before yourself.

I just didnt feel like I needed them.

I had a very long bad labor with 2 plus hours of pushing then the csection

I took motrin and was fine.

The nurses made me try the percoset (HALF dose) because they thought it would help my blood pressure. I didnt like how it made me feel and I didnt take it again.

I took Motrin/Ibuprofen for all 3 of my c-sections. The prescribed stuff always made me nauseous.

With my first c/s, the nurse came in to give me the narcotics and I asked her "What's the big white pill!?! Give me that! That worked the best." She laughed and said "Motrin."

I think I may have taken Percoset in the hospital a few times - maybe 1-2 times a day at most and filled in with Motrin. I don't remember filling a prescription for the Percoset when I got home - maybe DH did for me? But I don't think I took any.

If I remember it didn't really make me feel any less pain then the Motrin. But by then I really only had pain when trying to get up or down - no constant pain (that I remember...maybe I was taking it like candy and that's why I just don't remember???

I only took Motrin also...I think I may have taken the Percocet once just to get some sleep. I'm a light sleeper and got no sleep in the hospital with all the noise going on.

Once I got home I didn't take anything...

I also only had dissolvable stitches...no staples or anything else so don't know if that helped also.

I only took it in the Hospital because the nurse told me I should. I felt so loopy after. Honestly my recovery was pretty easy...I didn't feel that I needed to take pain killers that were so strong.

Only motrin for me! Every day, every shift change, the nurses would ask...they'd tell me to take something...

The way I saw it, I have a history of sensitivity to medicines, and I'd never taken Percoset or Vicodin before...i didn't know how I'd react, and given that I had a newborn to take care of, I didn't want to take that chance!

Don't get me wrong - that first day SU CKED! And I was diligently pushing that button every 6 hours for my motrin! But by the time I left, it was getting better. The doc gave me a script for Percoset, but I never filled it...I just got the prescription strength motrin (and when that ran out, if I needed any, I'd take three regular motrin).

I did not take percocet and had to force myself to eat, lost 26 Lbs in 10 days.

Were you BFing? I was and I lost tons of weight. Sleep deprivation altered my appetite also.

Here is my run down.
The first 20+ hours I was on a morphine pump, so I could self medicate up to every 15 minutes I believe.
The next day I got out of bed, pump was disconnected. By mid day I felt pretty good, sore but good. 1x per day for the next 2, I would go to the nurses and ask for motrin (I would take 2)

When I left the hospital I felt really good! I had a script i never filled and only took advil 1x.

In my case, I do have a decent pain threshold, I had a scheduled c/s and I credit my OB with doing a really good job, plus my body NEVER labored so I only had to recover from the c/s and every night I sent DS to the nursery and had him sleep there even though I was BF. I got sleep and I truly think that helped in my recovery.

Even my DH was shocked at how well I bounced back.

3 motrins at a time was all I needed. The only time I took the pain meds was when I my daughter hit my in my stomach about 1 1/2 post surgery- thought I was going to die. Other than that I just dealt.

I was on a pain pump for day 1, but didn't use it. I only took Motrin. I tried stronger, but I didn't like how I felt on it.

It was too bad. I was up walking very quickly and only had back pain.
