Re: For you working ladies, how many of you are working as close to your due date as possible?
My goal is to work as long as I can, until the doctor or my body tells me to stop.

I joke with my boss that my water is going to break in the office. I hope I can make it until the very end.

Re: For you working ladies, how many of you are working as close to your due date as possible?
I was at work when my OB asked me to come in for monitoring. Left to go to lunch, but didn't come back since I was admitted and needed an emergency c/s 24 hours later lol. So I worked until the very end, but I delivered 8 weeks early.
This time, I am planning on working til the end again. I'm not sure I'll make it, lol, but that's the plan!

Re: For you working ladies, how many of you are working as close to your due date as possible?
I worked until the very end with DS1. The last week though I worked from home.
With DS2 I attempted to try and stop working 2 weeks before my due date because I had an insanely stressful month prior with deadline and working way more hours than anyone should. My doctor wouldn't sign me out because medically there was no reason. I could have gone out for state purposes but my disability policy at work would not have paid me. So I worked from home during week 38 and they gave me a scheduled c-section at 39 weeks.
For DS3 I plan on making it as far as I can. If my doc signs me out a week or two early that's great. If not I"ll probably do the from home thing again as I wind things down.

Re: For you working ladies, how many of you are working as close to your due date as possible?
I planned to stop working about a month before I was due. Just because. Well, I ended up working up to the day DS was born because he came 11 wks early and I did not know I was in labor. Worked a 10 hour day, went out for dinner, drove home from Massapequa to Ronkonkoma, back to Smithtown to get checked out at hsp. Delivered my son 30 minutes after I got to the hsp. Took an extended leave after he was born. DS was in NICU for 7 weeks and then I took an additional month once he was home. Since then, I am trying to get back to working FT, but my job is flexible and I have a lot of flexibility, including the ability to work from home.

Re: For you working ladies, how many of you are working as close to your due date as possible?
I planned on working until the last minute but my job stinks right now and I just want out. I am thinking about asking my doctor for a note even if I am feeling fine. I have plenty of days in my bank and a couple of weeks home before baby comes would be really nice.

Re: For you working ladies, how many of you are working as close to your due date as possible?
My last day is 2 weeks before my edd, my job pays me for these weeks so that's when I'm stopping. This is in addition to my 12 weeks leave. Hopefully she continues to cook!

Re: For you working ladies, how many of you are working as close to your due date as possible?
I worked until I was 36 weeks in the city at a desk job. I was very very uncomfortable towards the end but was toughing it out until my 36 week appt when the dr put me out because of high blood pressure and his concerns about my long commute. I ended up having DD at 38 weeks so I had 2 weeks to "sit" at home and wait for her. I had plenty to do at home during that time and it was much easier for me than dealing with the subway and LIRR for those last two weeks. I ended up not going back to work so the issue of takign time away from my leave did not apply.

Re: For you working ladies, how many of you are working as close to your due date as possible?
I worked up until the very end with ds #1 (thankfully I went 15 days early though!) and I plan to do the same with this kiddo too. The more that I take off before he's born, the less time that I have to take afterwards...

Re: For you working ladies, how many of you are working as close to your due date as possible?
Crashing... but I worked up to the very end of my pregnancy. I'm a teacher who works in the fifth floor, so at 38 weeks I was taking my preggo self up and down the stairs. LUCKILY and good timing that DD had, we had winter break and she decided to come at 39 weeks right before we went back to work... otherwise I would have been back there...

Re: For you working ladies, how many of you are working as close to your due date as possible?
The only I can stop working if I go into labor or if my doctors order me to stop. I can't now because I am covering another cook while he is away on vacation for one month. My dd is feb 2 nd, I am getting uncomfortable and now have to deal with it.

Re: For you working ladies, how many of you are working as close to your due date as possible?
I'm not using any precious maternity leave. The only way I will stop working before the twins are born is if I am put on bed rest, where my salary is covered 100 pct as short term disability. I also have a desk job so it's not like I'm on my feet at all.
