Gender Preference
A healthy baby is most important ( boy do I know that after what I've been through ! ) , but I was wondering how common a gender preference is. My DH claims he had zero preference one way or the othe. How about all of you?

I tried to tell myself I didn't but I did. And I kinda do this time around. I feel guilty about it though.

Re: Gender Preference
I kind of would like a girl this time.
I didn't care at all with DS, but we went through a lot to have him, so now I would like a girl since we have a son.

Gender Preference
I kind of wanted a girl at first only because we only have nephews and each only have brothers. Would've been nice to have another girl around. But now that I know it's a boy I couldn't picture anything else. Above all a healthy and happy baby is all that mattered.

Re: Gender Preference
my DH desperately wants a girl (we are team green this time around as he got really disappointed the first time after finding out we were having a DS) I had zero preference one way or the other but wanted him to be happy. My only preference for a girl this time is mostly due to my husbands preference as I would like for him to have that father/daughter relationship he is really craving and we don't plan on having any more children regardless of gender. Obviously that goes without saying that healthy is #1 priority and either will be a gift.

I have 2 dd's so I really wanted #3 to be a boy, but it looks like it is a girl from my 12w scan. I want a healthy baby of course, but we would have been thrilled if it was a boy!

Gender Preference
First time I really wanted a girl. I lost my mom so for me to have that mother daughter relationship was really important and she is named after my mom and has her Hebrew name.
This time around it didn't matter. I'm so happy dd will have a sister espec so close in age, but a boy would be great too to have one of each.
Healthy is the only thing that really matters but I think it's normal to have a preference

Re: Gender Preference
I honestly have zero preference. I already have DS so it would be nice to have a daughter too. But the idea of DS having a baby brother makes my heart melt so I will be really happy either way!

Re: Gender Preference
With #1 I didn't care, but this time I desperately want a girl. At the same time, my little boy is my biggest blessing and if I got another one, I will be happy.

Re: Gender Preference
With ds1 he was my first and I really had no preference. I actually felt relief when I had a boy because I knew my dh needed a boy to carry on his family name.
Now I am pregnant with ds2 and not that I am unhappy but it would have been nice to have a girl. However we probably will have a 3rd and I will want a girl but like everyone said a healthy baby is what is important.

Gender Preference
I'll be honest, with my first I hoped for a boy (And DS came along). With my second PG I really don't have a preference.

Re: Gender Preference
Yes. DH and I both wanted a boy. BAD!!! When we found out girl, we just quickly adapted.
If we have a second baby I still hope boy. DH has switched and wants another girl, although neither is a strong preference like we had before DD was born. We know the love we will have for any child won't differ regardless on its sex. The reasons for our preferences are personal, but not at all deal breakers.

Re: Gender Preference
I really don't care because I think it woul he cool to have either but since there are so many girls in my family I think if we HAD to pick a preference, it would be a boy. I know DH is secretly hoping for a boy but he'll be thrilled with a little girl too. Seriously, as long as the baby is healthy and we have a smooth delivery, that's all I care about. I am looking forward to that big moment though. It's like the carrot on the end of the stick

Re: Gender Preference
I definitely wanted a boy. But, as soon as the sono tech said, 'it's a girl', I melted.

Re: Gender Preference
I've always seen myself as a mom to boys. As a tomboy myself - I always say to friends "what would I do with a girl? I don't speak pink or princesses!"
Needless to say, we're thrilled that we're expecting another boy!

Gender Preference
I've always wanted a boy first. I got mine :) but I felt guilty wanting one gender over another, especially when I was going through so much pre-natal testing. But at that point I already knew he was a boy, so I just wanted him to be healthy.

Re: Gender Preference
I really didn't care the first time around but DH really, really wanted a boy (which is what we have). This time around I really wanted a girl because I have always wanted to experience being a girl mommy and we knew that this was going to be our last (financially and space wise we can't do any more than 2).. I thought I was definitely having another boy but was shocked and excited to find out that its a girl! Of course, a healthy baby is most important.

Gender Preference
I have 2 DDs so I am hoping for a boy this time, though I'm just hoping and praying for a healthy baby. Having said that, I really think it's another girl. I feel the same EXACT way I did with my girls. So I have a feeling I'll be having 3 girls - which is soo cute.

Re: Gender Preference
First time around, when I was pregnant with my son, I didn't care either way and I truly meant that - I wasn't just saying it because it was "the right thing to say" And growing up I always envisioned, for some reason, that my first would be a boy. Then when I got older I didn't think about it one way or the other. Then when I got pregnant I was so relieved to be pregnant as I had such a difficult time getting pregnant, that it was like whatever at this point! But, for some reason, once I was pregnant I had this inkling that MAYBE it would be a girl - I don't know what made me feel that way. But, each time I would think that, I would go back to how my entire young life when I would think about eventually becoming a mother, I always pictured a little boy named Julian. So, because of that, I had NO CLUE what it was going into my sonogram.
I remember laying there and the tech popped up the word "BOY" typed on the big flat-screen TV that the sono came up on! I felt a sense of confirmation almost - like, deep down, I always knew I would have my Julian Kenneth first, but wasn't sure - and didn't care either way, if he didn't come first then he would be second (in my mind)... but it was almost like, OK, now I know and I felt very content with the boy news :)
I came home so happy and my parents thought THAT meant I was having a girl... so at the gender reveal they were surprised. I guess they assumed I had a preference when I never did
I remember saying to the tech, just to make sure, "and you're SURE right?" and she said "unless your girl has testicles, I'm sure".
Now that I have a son SURE I'd like a girl next time but it's OK either way - another boy would be cool in it's own way too :)

Re: Gender Preference
I honestly have no preference, but DH really would like a boy. I do have a feeling this is a girl though and DH has grown to love the idea of a little girl. I know no matter what that he will love and be great with a girl or boy but part of me hopes that it's a boy just because I know it's something he would like eventually. That was part of the draw in staying team green for us, because on the day of, it won't matter girl or boy.

Re: Gender Preference
I'm such a girly girl.. I always thought that I was having all girls my whole life.. I guess it was the necklace trick that made me think that, lol!!! When i was preggo with my first I was secretly hoping girl but we were team green and had a feeling it was a boy the whole time and I was right!! I was thrilled knowing my first was a boy even though I had girl in my head forever.. This time around again I felt boy the whole time but secretly wanted a girl again since this will probably be my last.. we found out this time and its another boy!! Im excited that my son will have a brother since I never had a sister.. Im excited they will be so close in age.. Deep down a little part of me is a little sad I may never have that mother , daughter relationship but I do love being mom to a boy!!! Like they say every baby is a blessing regardless of gender:) Im just sad mostly because I will never get to use my girl name , LOL.. and we cant decide on boy name:)
