I don't see it as being bashed about your opinions, everyone has a right to them. The way that you voiced your opinion is an issue. IF is a sensitive topic, which clearly you should know after having gone through it. Patients of Dr. B or any doctor for that matter put a lot of trust, faith, hope, etc in him/her. So when this doctor gets attacked based on an opinion, not a fact, how can you not expect resistance?
ITA! Its ok to express ur feelings about a practice based on ur experience there but to "warn" others about how awful that Dr is, just seems like ur trying to start an issue with ladies on here. It wasn't ur opinion that has pple upset its the attitude and how it was said.

Actually plenty of people have spoken up and if they haven't it's just because they don't want to waste their time. Anything that should be said has been said already. You are entitled to your opinion but most of us on here have too much class than to argue with someone who just comes on a board to stir the pot.

This is exactly the reason why noone is speaking up because of this harrassment. I'm reaching out to those who do see him and have doubt, but at this point no matter what I say it's not going to make a difference because you are all taking it to the next level.

no one is attacking your opinion. we all know lots of people that see or saw dr. B. some love him, some hate him, some were successful, some were not, and some went on to be successful with other doctors. no one here is delusional about him. no one here is scared to say how they feel about him, including the minority of women that did not have good experiences with him (there are def a few). those are issues that you have created for pretty much no reason at all.
there is absolutely nothing wrong wiith your OPINION. just dont force it onto others. i hate mint ice cream, i dont post to some unrelated post saying NEVER EVER EAT MINT ICE CREAM. it's poison. i know, i have experience with it. i ate it three times and it never ended well. then i decided to stop eating mint ice cream and start eating strawberry ice cream. now my life is awesome.
how you deliver your message is everything. no one is asking you to sugar coat anything, but this is an open forum so you must have expected there would be people here defending him, especially since you know so many people here use him. there are classy ways to get your point across. you just didn't use any of them and that's why you're being attacked.
if you think that everyone here posts only happy posts you are out of your mind. there are COUNTLESS posts of cycles that didn't work out - with every doctor and every facility. you are seriously out of your mind if you think that everything on this board is happy. it only shows once again that you don't have your facts straight before making an argument, and that you clearly have spent absolutely no time on this board before making that false observation. if you had your facts straight and said your opinion in a relevant format, people would have listened. but instead you chose to start this ridiculous conversation which has only further proven your ignorance and worse off, has probably turned away the people who were actually willing to listen to your message.

We're not attacking you for having an opinion. We're pointing out that you're not expressing it effectively. Saying things like "dont go to so and so" and "he is awful" is not helpful. For people who are researching RE's, they will likely think you were a disgruntled patient because he didnt get you pregnant, and your complaint won't hold water, whether you beleive its true or not.
As for your comments on his excessive tests- while not all doctors believe in his immune approach (which I assume this is what you are talking about) I have done my own research and think it has a strong correlation to my IF issues. So I am happy to say that Dr. B effectively treated my immune issues, and would be scared to think of what would happen if they went untreated. Again, I'm not suprised that other doctors told you those tests meant nothing, but its their opinion- and Dr B has his own, educated opinion and much experience to go along with it.
Just curious, did you actually go through with the immune testing?
And just an FYI, when you write thiings the way you did, they are likely to get pulled- this is LIF, dr b is a paying vendor and your posts have done absolutely nothing to help Gina with her questions. That is what you call unclassy.

It's just that you hijacked someone's thread who was not asking for your opinion about her doctor with very negative, and some non-factual statements about him. You could have FMed her and told her your OPINION, or you could have started another thread. Contrary to your belief, you are NOT the first person to say something negative about Dr. B on here. One of my closest friends on this board did not like him...I do. Your opinion is not fact. Fact is that you had failed 3 IVFs with him and successfully got pregnant elsewhere. Your OPINION is that he's a lousy doctor. There are plenty of other ladies who have had failed IVFs elsewhere and found success with Dr. B.
It's all about how you say things. If you want people to listen to you and respect what you have to say, learn to use a little tact.

I have been perfectly honest on this board that Dr B and his practice was not for me....and those are due to personal reasons that I have told people I would share.
And the Dr I went to plenty of people have their issues with and I really don't care. We all have reasons for seeing one Dr over another we do not need to PUSH those reasons onto anyone else....all you had to say was I had a bad experience FM me if you want to know why. DONE. There didnt need to be the nastiness. IF is a highly sensitive subject and it has all made us crazy but no need to get nasty of whether you liked a Dr or noth with others.

Snuggybear-keep speaking your truth...but I think the ladies make a good point. It's all in the delivery. Personal, I do think you were bashed a bit...but in a way...the way you posted your thoughts on Dr. B led to that. Personally, I tend to agree with you and IMHO..you indeed got your facts straight. The fact that Dr. B no longer uses AFS does not matter...he did...for quite awhile...and it was indeed a crappy lab. I also think that many people do not post their true thoughts on Dr. B here because this board is so pro-Dr. B. The fact that they delete negative posts about Dr. B because he is a paying sponsor is sickening to me and does a disservice to the women that come to this board looking for help. They should be able to see the good and the bad and by doing so, it is made loud and clear that negative opinions of Dr. B are unwelcome here. So for me, that makes his image on this board rather distorted and the sentiment that if "Dr. B can't help you no one can" is VERY harmful to others IMHO...not to mention, just untrue.
The fact is, some do not care for him. I've read it here and on other boards. The fact is also..the man has helped a lot of people get pregnant and based upon all that I have read here and on another board where women with immune issues post, I would be hard-pressed to say the man is awful. That being said, you SHOULD tell people about your experiences with Dr. B just as people express their love for the man.
To the OP..please call GHI directly and ask about your plan. My GHI plan covers both anesthesia and the freezing of embryos. GL!!

i am just bummed bc i thoughtit was going to only be like 1500..so between this and all the meds this stinks
Gina, I have GHI and I did IVF with Dr. B. I had to pay them $1250 OOP. That was for the 25% coinsurance. Then of course there were meds. I was covered for most of them though. Just some co pays. I then payed $1750 for the freezing of the embryos.

Oh and IDK call me crazy, cal me dumb, whatever....but I actually liked the idea that Dr B was all for testing things that other dr's refuse to test for. I find that to be an efficient quality about him. That's what I was going to him for.... to test me and find out what the issue is!! And to be really honest... he told me I didn't need ALL the tests at this time... he was thinking something else was my issue and so he told me not to even bother with the super expensive testing and to start with just the ones that are more likely to have been my issue. I thought that was a good thing. he never seemed to be out for the money.
but really... not everyone is going to like every single dr. but having a little tact with any message can go a long way. you absolutely can voice your opinion about dr b... but do it with class girl... don't just say he's AWFUL, Don't go to him bc 3 attempts didn't work for me, yada yada yada.
Just say: he wasn't for me.... we did a few rounds and they didn't work then I moved onto another office who was a much better fit for me personally.
YOU were the one bashing. I didn't see anyone bash you.
bottom line, which is something you need to remember... this is your OPINION on the matter. everyone has their own opinions, so be respectful.
