Just wondering if you found a solution to your diaper rash problem?
My week old DS has a raging red diaper rash that actually started in the hospital. It surprised me to see it there since he was in the NICU, where they took SUCH good care of him. I've only tried Desitin, so far, because that's what the docs said, but we see no improvement. At one point on Monday, there was a little spot of blood on his hiney.
I'm assuming I can't let my boy go diaperless to air it out since he'll pee all over the place?
Any suggestions? Thanks!
(P.S. - just cracked myself up because I realized I initally wrote that my "DH" has a diaper rash. I'm not used to writing "DS"!!!)
What diapers are you using? I poste din this thread earlier and FINALLY after 2 months realized my DD was allergic to the SENSATIVE diapers! Both Huggies and Pampers. We put her in cruisers and she has been just fine. I also switched her wipes as well. I suggest switching diapers, making your own wipes, and some triple paste. It works great. You can also add a Tablespoon of baking soda to his bath when it's time to bath him or add it to a big bowl of warm water to clean his tushy.
I can't believe babies can be allergic to the actual diaper! Crazy!!! I'm using all the diapers we got from the hospital... Pampers Swaddlers. I just texted my DH to pick me up a bag of the Cruisers. I'll try anything! Thank you!!!
I don't think cruisers will work soince he's a nb......if you're using Pampers from the hospital it could be a reaction to the dry max! SOme babies have it some don't. You can try the sensative diapers or huggies nb. I would switch brands! I'm so sorry this is going on! How are his stools? You might also consider a milk allergy. Emmy had horrible diaper rash while I was bfing and it was a milk allergy. I had to cut all milk and dairy from my diet.
