Honest question for Trump supporters
And I'm sorry that once again yet another thread was for trump supporters to answer but it's been mostly an influx of non-trump fans (myself included).

I'm not a Trump supporter however, I do feel that his behavior is very unbecoming of a President of the United States. He should NOT be rapid fire tweeting every single day about EVERYTHING that pops into his head. I feel that his tweets are immature and EXTREMELY unprofessional. As an American citizen, I would hope that our leader would have more presidential matters to attend to rather than tweeting nonstop all hours of the night.
While I understand that in this day and age social media will always be a factor I do think his handlers need to make sure that his tweets are mostly benign, appropriate and professional. He really needs to STOP with the knee jerk attacks on people because he doesn't like what is said about him, he needs to STOP constantly criticizing the media as he is undermining their right to freedom of press and freedom of speech, he needs to STOP tweeting jabs at other nations and leaders, he needs to STOP tweeting and criticizing others in government, he needs to STOP patting himself on the back and he needs to STOP using Twitter as his own public ranting platform.
He's no longer a private citizen. He holds the safety of this nation and its people in his hands. He is suppose to set an example and lead this country with a modicum of dignity, grace, and professionalism and he's not doing ANY of those things. His tweets are a disgrace and an embarrassment to every American citizen.
He needs to reign himself in and conduct himself in such a way that the country and the world will take him seriously, feel confident in his leadership, and have hope for the future. His toddler like rantings are divisive, unproductive, unbecoming, and tactless. He needs to stop.
All of this!!!
Also, if you are not on Twitter, I beg you to create an account and follow @realdonaldtrump. Please see for yourself the vitriol he is spewing about everyone from CNN toToyota to the free press. It's horrifying and eye-opening. It's one thing to read about the tweets in an article or on here, it's another to read them first hand as they flow in at 5am typos and grammatical mishaps and all.
Sometimes there are 10-14 tweets per day. I am a working professional, with direct reports and who manages budgets exceeding $55 million dollars and I do not have time to compose 10-14 tweets per day. To me, there is something gravely wrong when the elected highest leader of our country is spending his time doing this!!

I'm a Trump supporter but I don't have Twitter and I'm not really deeply into politics honestly.
He does act immature I'll admit but he'll learn. I remember Bush Jr. sounding like a complete bumbling fool but he practiced his speeches or something and got better.
A brand new teacher or news anchor or anything will improve with experience.
Except that the man is 70 years old. I think he missed his window for improvement.

Also, a new teacher or news anchor WANT to get better. This man has no intention of changing... I stupidly thought maybe he would have it together for his first press conference in 7 months on Wednesday, but he was exactly who he was 7 months ago, 1 year ago etc

Honest question for Trump supporters
Not a Trump supporter, though the lovely ladies on here have tried to bully me into being one, lol. I am pretty conservative though, and I do not think a President, or President Elect, should be on Twitter. What he does is completely insane in my opinion. I myself am not on Twitter, so I just hear what is reported on the news. No President should have a personal social media presence. Yes, there are the official ones, and that is fine...Obama is not the one actually posting, it goes through the white House admin. Once Trump is sworn in, they cannot let him continue to do this. There must be rules about that, right????

In relative terms, social media is still a new thing, and when something like this comes up- a President elect using the platform in ways no one imagined- it seems like the policies are often made up after the fact. Like, someone does something and then others say, "Hm, maybe that's not a great idea."
Anyway, Trump clearly has no intention of giving it up.

Well I'm assuming once he is President, they are not going to let him continue, or I hope not at least. I know it is a fairly new thing, but there have to be protocols. From what I have read, Presidents are not allowed to have their own personal cell phones? I have to do more research.

Re: Honest question for Trump supporters
The Twitter thing is certainly absurd and makes him look embarrassingly undignified, but he does that on TV cameras on the reg so what's the diff? G-Dub sounded like an idiot half the time too (tho I'd give my eye teeth to have him back right now...)
The main thing that concerns me with Trump's Tweets is the inciting conflict with China and N. Korea. That scares the bejesus out of me!
However, there don't seem to be many rules that apply to the POTUS. I am kind of stunned that his cabinet appointments have these stringent legal requirements to disclose tax returns and divest from conflicts of interest, but the president only does if he's nice and feels like it. He's already had all these diplomats stay at his hotel. The leader of Turkey tried to threaten him via one of his properties there, so this stuff certainly stands to have an impact on his governance.
I'm left And I feel like these are things (national security, conflicts of interest) that all of us (supporter or not) should be able to agree on.

"They" are the people who actually run the government! You honestly think POTUS is the end all be all? He's a figurehead. We the people don't actually know the real people behind the scenes.

Thing is, Trump thinks he is the end all be all. So I really don't think anyone will tell him what to do with regards to tweeting. He has been taking calls from world leaders on his unsecured phone- he should have given that up immediately for security reasons. He will not let anyone tell him what to do.

And his know-it-all, listen to nobody, above the law attitude will ultimately be his undoing. Fingers are crossed this a$$hat is impeached and gone long before his 4 year reign of terror is up.

Honest question for Trump supporters
Ive been saying all along he is a complete narcissist. His ego is too big to fit through a door and he loves being in a position of power. Add in he is immature, insecure and whines worse than my 8 year old. I truly believe in my heart he won because people hated Hillary more. I do not think they were necessarily FOR Trump, but more so against Hillary. And now look what we've got. Ugh.

I agree. That's why my mom voted for him. She kept saying he was the lesser of two evils. She said she's hated Hillary since the 90s. I tried to show her the negatives of trump but she didn't seem to care.

If only the Republicans were able to get someone better who could have beat him. Or if only the Democratics had someone, anyone, other than her, I really believe things would have turned out much differently.

Honest question for Trump supporters
I think that people who supported and voted for Trump don't have much to say right now. I'm getting crickets from the inlaws when I ask pertinent questions about his current actions. I keep getting the, "get over it, he won, let's see, how bad can it be?" speech. I don't think anyone is in favor of his actions, and your political ideology has nothing to do with this. Isn't the president supposed to have someone tweeting for him?

I agree. My parents both voted for Trump. Now is the first time they are showing concern. They are not happy about his attitude towards Russia and how he speaks of the FBI/CiA. They aren't saying he is a mistake just yet but the the writing on the wall.

Re: Honest question for Trump supporters
It concerns me that people think it's okay for there to be a "learning curve" with being president. That's not acceptable, and one of the reasons "not being a politician" actually is NOT a plus.
The second this man becomes president he holds millions of lives in his hands. He has access to nuclear codes. If he continues to "learn" once inaugurated, and along the way carries on as he has been....he could very well incite war. That's not okay. This is not normal.

Does that really surprise anyone. The amount of venom that is spewed about Trump on how he is racist, the anti Christ, going to ruin everyone's lives comes from people being no better than he is spewing their own stereotypes and passive aggressive comments. Just because people do not think the same as you (the collective you) does mean you can tear apart every single thing someone says. It is absolutely ridiculous. The election is over. The end. Change is this country starts with the people not with the President and the way I'm seeing the Democrats act, I don't know if we would have been any better if the election results were different.
