how many people are getting the flu shot?
is anyone mandated by work to have one?

I don't get them every single year. I only do it on a Thursday or Friday when I have time because I get some slight symptoms & I rest them off. Those symptoms are not the flu. Too many people think that they are. I will be in a hospital during flu season this year so I think it's more important.

I am allergic to the flu shot. My doctor recommends my husband getting the vaccine. Sadly since I have found out that I am allergic I have had the flu 2 times in 5 years.

I get one with work too. Work with many residents that have compromised immune systems so they highly suggest it but do not force it

Being pregnant and having gotten the flu last year when I didn't get the shot, and then giving my husband the flu as well, (older dd was the only one who didn't get it and she got the shot!) I'm going to get it, definitely.

I get it every year by choice. Being a sahm to two kids I can't afford to get sick and definitely woud never want to get them sick

Same here. Also, my SIL got the flu 3 years ago and she was deathly sick. Out of work for almost 2 weeks and had to get an iv for dehydration. That scared the living crap out of all of us. Now the entire family gets the shot, even DH who is a big baby about everything.

I'm scheduled to get one at work. It's not mandated, just offered, but I always take it. My PC gives me a shot if I don't get one at work. DW already got her shot as well.

I've been getting it every year for a while now. A few years ago, the winter I was pregnant, I had gotten the flu shot and my DH didn't. I was feeling a little off one day, (months later so not a side effect of the shot), and had a very low grade fever, but by the next day I felt fine. Well, DH was not so lucky, he got so sick, I've never seen him that sick. He couldn't even walk by himself in to the doctors office. So now ever since then he gets the flu shot too.

I get it for my kids but I've never actually had the flu shot. I haven't had the flu since I was about 5 yrs old (I'm now 40) so I really don't worry too much about it.
ETA - **I had my tonsils out when I was 5, I use to be sick all of the time before that but after having them out I really never get anything more than a cold and the occasional bout of bronchitis**

I got it for the first time when I was pregnant two years ago, then last year got it again because DS was an infant. Now this year it's mandatory at work so I will be getting it again. I guess I never got it prior to pregnancy because i was lazy.

I am not required for a job but I get one. DH teaches and gets one at his school. DD gets it as well. It's not something I ever debated as my ped recommended it.

Never got one and after DH got the flu last year after having the shot, He won't get it either.
ETA: He caught the flu while in the hospital while I was being induced w/ DD1. I didn't get it and neither did DD1. He had the flu shot, we didn't.

I get it every year. I did get the flu last year but, I think having the shot made it weaker than if I hadn't had it.
Since people in my office feel the need to come to work when they have the flu (which is how I contracted it) I feel the need to get the shot.
