Nobody in my house gets it. My DH feels it is unnecessary risk to put in your body as its not really a vaccine its nore like a crap shoot. We have been lucky so far with our own immine systems. The only time I got the shot was when my obgyn FORCED me when I was pregnant. A few weeks later right after I delivered, I got deathly ill with the flu. Turned into pneumonia. Yeah. Im done.

We all get it (me, wife, kids) in our house every year. I work in a hospital. Once you get the flu shot you get a special badge. If you don't have the badge you are required to wear a mask in any patient care area (whether you are sick or not). It's really a no brainer to get flu shot since it can kill you and the risk from the vaccine is infinitesimally small.

DH, DS and myself all have asthma. We all get the shot. A few years ago we got the flu anyway. It was not as bad as some people at work who were out for over a week. I believe that is because we had the shot. Even so I had a cough that lingered for weeks. So we continue to get it.

I get the shot.
I had the flu once, about ten years ago, and it was horrible. I have a really high tolerance for pain and the flu kicked my ass, repeatedly.
When I was on chemo and had my bad weeks, it reminded me of that week with the flu.
If I could avoid that again - just the chance to avoid feeling that way once more - sign me up.
Getting my shot at work in a couple of weeks. Bringing a Hello Kitty band aid with me.

We will get it.
DH works in a school so there are germs everywhere, I work in a public building as well so I'm always picking up germs, & we have 2 little kids. I don't want to take chances. Although we got the shot last year & both DH & DS ended up getting the flu anyway. Hopefully the shot will work better this year.

None of us in my home have ever gotten one and we don't plan on it. DH's uncle died after getting Guillain Barré Syndrome and that scares the crap out of me.

I never get it and and never got the flu but last year I was so paranoid about catching it (seemed like everyone I knew had it) that this year I'll get the shot just in case.

I don't. Neither do my kids.
My thinking (and please correct me if I'm wrong) - there's so many strains of it!! One year it seemed like everyone got the shot
But still got sick due to a strain that wasn't covered.
If my/our immune systems were bad or we had some issue, I would maybe be more likely to do it.

I get it, it's mandated where I work. I usually get it for my kids too. They have both bad the flu before, and anything i can do to prevent them from getting it again I will do!

After I had the flu about 6 years ago, I started getting the shot. DD and DS get it also. DH never did, but last year he got the flu, so this year he might get it.

DH and I never get it. My kids get it every year and every year without fail they get so sick with the flu. I think last year, or two years ago only one of my kids got the flu but every other year all three have gotten the flu after getting the shot. We are thinking of not getting it this year for them.

I do whatever the federal guidelines recommend. I believe strongly in the benefits of vaccines.

No. I have only gotten the shot twice - when I was pregnant and when my DH was going through chemo. It seems like it's hit or miss on whether the shot will protect you or not.
