Same here. Also, my SIL got the flu 3 years ago and she was deathly sick. Out of work for almost 2 weeks and had to get an iv for dehydration. That scared the living crap out of all of us. Now the entire family gets the shot, even DH who is a big baby about everything.
People don't understand how dangerous the flu is. Its REALLY dangerous!

i got my first one when I was pregnant with DD and i have had every year since than. I get at work for free so it easy for me to get. honestly if i didn't get it at work I would probably not get it I am to lazy to go to the dr
both of my DC get them and DH gets it because he is in and out of a tons of houses as part of his job

DH is such a big baby about everything, too. I told him that if he gets the flu he can go take care of himself because he refused to get a little shot

My office urged me to get one in the past- mostly because our department is short handed and they hate having to cover us if someone is out.  I've always refused and I did finally get the flu in spring of 2014.
Now, I'm pregnant, and I will be getting the shot. If I wasn't pregnant, I still probably wouldn't get it. Even after having the flu.

I have to get it at my job or I can decline but I would have to wear a mask all the time. Its way to hot for me to do that.

Always get it
one year, i didn't. Its usually offered free at work, but i was out the day they did it.. i got the flu.
WORST sickness i've ever had. totally incapacitated for a week.
me, dh and ds will get the shot

We all get one and my parents get one as well. My dd is a severe asthmatic and we want to protect her and ourselves as much as we can.

I always get one. We get them free at work. I did wind up getting the other strain of flu last year but that wouldn't stop me from getting the shot this year.

I get it every year and I have never had the flu (which of course can either be attributed to the flu shot or just not getting it, but since I never have had an adverse reaction I continue to get it).

I am! I didn't get one last year, mostly cause I just forgot, and I was so happy when I made it through flu season without getting the flu. Then the flu made a resurgence in the summer and I got the stinkin flu in July. It was the worst!

I've never had it and never will. They base it after the previous years strands and never see to predict properly. I've never had the flu except for this past January. I know everyone's different br for me it wasn't a big deal. Fever never even broke 100, my doctor didn't want to test me but I insisted bc I knew I was exposed. I credit a mild fly due to the fact I took elderberry every day all flu season.

In the past, some years I got it and some I didn't - mostly because I was just too lazy (stupid) to go get it. At my current job, it's mandatory ( or wear a mask), so I will get it

Agree. I hear of so many people who got the shot and still got the flu last year.
It's a crapshoot.
I too, take elderberry and some other natural immune boosters- and double up when I am sick.
It definitely helps

I'm torn now, because I definitely don't want the flu again, but at the same time, I'm not convinced the shot works.

I get one with work too. Work with many residents that have compromised immune systems so they highly suggest it but do not force it
i wonder if we work for the same place? does your company offer it at work?
most of my other jobs require the flu shot. i have received the flu shot for the past 5 years. i forgot one year. i had the flu once many years ago and it was the worst sickness i ever had. twice in the past few years everyone in my family got the flu except me. i try to keep my stress levels down, hand wash and sleep.

That's the thing it DOESNT work if they use the wrong virus strains. It's guess work. Try elderberry syrup. You can buy for adults and kids OR make it yourself!
You buy dehydrated berries and boil them. I add manuka honey too. We take daily.

We never have and never plan to.
We eat pretty healthy and keep sugar to a minimum. We supplement with Carlson's liquid vit D, Acidophilus, fish oils and a multi. If my kids seem like they are coming down with something I add elderberry with echinacea.

I haven't gotten it in a few years
DD got the flu shot last year but she still got the flu, not sure I'm giving it to her this year.
My ds has asthma, he will always get the shot, he got it 2'weeks ago.
