I need to have my gall bladder out. HELP - UPDATE
I get heartburn now that I've had mine removed... It started about a year after surgery. But being on Prilosec every so often totally beats having a gall stone attack... Didn't know about the laxative thing... Makes total sense now ugh

Yeah I notice more heartburn lately but I didn't attribute it to that- interested.
And yes, pretty much any inconvenience- heartburn, running to the bathroom now and then, beats out those God awful attacks. That pain was horrific. Very close to the pain of a kidney stone (I have had both, lucky me!)

good luck, after your diet usually has to change no fatty foods.

This is me and my mom.
We can't or should I say shouldn't eat too many fatty foods. It still effects us.
And mine has been out for about 7 yrs.
It's gotten better over time for me. But I'm still caution.
ETS: I haven't noticed any heartburn.

There are certain places that I know will cause issues too.
#1 is IHOP
#2 is any Diner
I have no clue why but I always tell DH- if we go to either of these places, we need to go STRAIGHT home. No stopping at either on the start of a road trip. No going to stores after.
Right home!
Doesn't stop me from eating it mind you- but yeah.

It's not the pancakes- probably the bacon or hashbrowns!

Your body will process the fats differently with the gallbladder gone. I find that after the gallbladder was removed yes no more attacks, but excess fat will cause, ummm... yeah.
yes, thats what I mean, which is why from what I know one is suppose to watch their intake, that's what my mom was told.

FINAL UPDATE 10/4
All went well and my gallbladder is out and the umbilical hernia was fixed this morning. Everyone at Winthrop was great and so was Dr. Halpern.

Right? I told my DH I felt like I had the shit kicked out of me in a street fight!
That was worse than the surgical pain by a lot!
