If you had a c-section, how many days did you stay in the hospital?
I'm just trying to see what is common, if you don't mind answering.
Tomorrow is my 3rd day here after having a section o. Saturday after noon. There's been talk of sending me home and it just feels way too soon - I'm having lots of pain at the incision sight.
We do not have other children or pets at home that rely on my being home, if that makes a difference.
Thanks so much'

Re: If you had a c-section, how many days did you stay in the hospital?
4 and they sent me home. I think too early. My blood pressure was insane! Seriously insane. I ended up in the ER one week later.
God bless insurance *sigh* I couldn't afford a longer stay. They couldn't afford to keep giving me a semi private room privately. They were putting mom's in the regular part of the hospital and keeping my room private. My blood pressure was crazy high and no one ever figured out why.
ETA: I had her on a Friday Morning was home on Tuesday afternoon.

Re: If you had a c-section, how many days did you stay in the hospital?
Had DS 10 pm Wednesday and left 10 am Sunday. For DS I wanted to stay that 4th day and was so happy they let me have the extra time. I had a rough PG with him. Had DD 9 am Wednesday and left 11 am Saturday. I opted to leave b/c we had DS at home and I had a great repeat c/s.

Re: If you had a c-section, how many days did you stay in the hospital?
i had my DD on a Sunday at 3:52pm
they got me a bed at about 9pm that night
i was discharged to leave Tuesday afternoon, but came down with a fever 100.4 (i was fuming, there was no reason to keep me there an extra day) so i had to stay until Wed.
with DS, i had him on a Wed at 9:06am and i left Saturday morning, he was my first so i didnt know i was able to go home earlier.. they told me i was supposed to stay until Sunday, and then i was later told i could have checked out on Friday. arghh i was pi$$ed.
2-3 nights is a normal C section stay...
ETA: i didnt realized p i s s e d was a bad word

Re: If you had a c-section, how many days did you stay in the hospital?
My insurance co gave me 96 hours. I was there from Friday to monday.
You HAVE to get up and walk, it WILL hurt but after a few days you will be so, so glad you did. Take all the pain meds you need

Re: If you had a c-section, how many days did you stay in the hospital?
went in monday got out friday. check your hospital book of rights (they should have given you) you can deny discharge. also speak with your ob. they are the one who is going to discharge you.
are you taking pain meds? i took one ox(4hr) and 1 motrin(8hr). the motrin really helped me. are you walking ? just make sure you dont over do yourself.

Re: If you had a c-section, how many days did you stay in the hospital?
I had my DD early on a Friday morning and I was discharged on a Monday afternoon so I was there for 3 nights. I could've stayed another night but I wanted to go home and by then I was up and getting around and doing everything myself for my DD anyway so I just wanted to get out of there.

Re: If you had a c-section, how many days did you stay in the hospital?
I had my twins on a Tuesday evening and I left Saturday afternoon. They said I would have been allowed to leave on Friday but 1. most people stay the extra day and 2. my babies were in the NICU and I would obviously want to stay with them as long as possible.

This! I went home a night early and I was definitely regretting it. Take the extra night.

Re: If you had a c-section, how many days did you stay in the hospital?
With DD, she was born at 8:00 on Friday morning and I was begging to go home Monday morning. I was just so uncomfortable in the hospital (it was a week before Christmas, the heat didn't work well in my room and we had just had a blizzard so I had just about zero visitors!) They offered to let me stay until Tuesday but I just wanted to go home. Long winded way to say that I stayed 3 nights, but was offered a 4th.

Re: If you had a c-section, how many days did you stay in the hospital?
Talk to your ob. Don't bother with the nurses or hospital doctors. Deal directly with your ob. I was there for 5 nights after I had the twins. I had stomach issues. I was better but not ready to leave. My OB was great and said I could stay as long as I wanted (within reason of course) but I was ready by the 6th day. Actually,I was all ready to leave and my blood pressure spiked and I almost had to stay another night!

Re: If you had a c-section, how many days did you stay in the hospital?
They wanted me to stay 5 days, but gave me the option of leaving on the 4th if I wanted because I said I was feeling pretty good. After I got home, I cried because I was in a lot of pain & exhausted. I wish I had stayed the 5th day. If I need one with this baby, they're going to have to pry me outta there!

Re: If you had a c-section, how many days did you stay in the hospital?
I had DS on Saturday afternoon. Was sent home on Wednesday, so 4 nights and 4 full days.
That said, I was actually in the hospital 5 nights since I was hospitalized 24 hours before my crash c/section.
And my DH was SO mad at the doctors for discharging me; I was still in a LOT of pain and could barely walk, sit up/down. They said since my incision was healing very nicely, they had no way of keeping me longer. And my DS stayed in the NICU for a month so I wanted even more so to stay at least another day or so - no go.
Good luck, hope you're feeling better soon! Try to walk as much as possible - it will hurt, but will help you heal and feel better. And congrats again!!!
