I see it no different than letting your kid go to daycare or to school with a cold.
But the older boy was too sick to go to school.....
Exactly. If the older boy was not in school then he should not be in childcare at a gym. That is just ridiculous. It is definitely different than school or daycare because sometimes people are in situations where than cannot get someone to watch their children so they have no choice. I am sure this woman could have put off working out that day. Also, childcare at a gym has a wide age range and it is rude to drop your sick child off knowing he or she could infect a baby. I would definitely complain to the management. My gym actually has a no runny nose policy.

Really? Im not for sheltering my kid from all germs but this is the gym? You dont have to go today. She isnt missing work. I think its rude to not care that others may get sick.
.
I agree.
I kept DD away from the gym last week bc she had a NASTY cold. Its jus the gym, I can miss it if my kid is too sick.
A little cold is one thing, but if the one boy was too sick to go to school, then he shouldnt be at the gym either.
