i was young when i had my first child, a litte older than her, but not much.
I think i did a good job. Hopefully she will get the help that she needs, and not take after her sister.
She must be scared to death, especially knowing that she has the entire world looking down on her. I know i was scared and i only had my family and friends to deal with.

don't buy it was an accident. She has always made statements about wanting to top her sister, beat her out...compete.
In addition, I agree. Jessica Alba, Nicole Ritchie, Britney, etc...I do sadly think this is becoming a trend. First it was doggies, now babies...
Sure accidents happen but I just don't buy it here. One woudl think after seeing her sister make that mistake twice she would be paranoid for herself...if she truly didn't want to become pregnant.
My take too.
But for the record, as bad as it's all turned out, Britney was married and in her 20's ... not 16 or in a three month relationship before getting pregnant, or just back with a guy who she supposedly broke up with because he was cheating.

There are more and more unmarried, young women having babies it seems and what is sad to me is that all the focus is on the positive amazing parts of being a parent. The huge baby showers, the cute outfits, the maternity clothes etc...

I don't think it is fair to lump Jessica Alba and even Nicole Richie in with Jaime Lynn. Jessica Alba is 26, Nicole Richie is 25- plenty of women that age are having children, unplanned or not, it isn't a trend. Nicole Richie really seems to have gotten herself together, and I don't recall Jessica Alba ever being so self destructive that she'd be a bad mother.
As for Jaime Lynn, I was very surprised.

Ok, let's all congratulate her on her teen pregnancy ........Yes, 16 year olds have sex, yes, you can get pregnant while on BC, but do you have to make a HUGE public announcement about it in a 6 page magazine spread ?? I'm not saying she should hide from the world....but really, let's have a TEENY bit of social responsibility here and act with a some discretion -
This is a little harsh. No one is congratulating her.
There would have been a huge public announcement whether it came from her or not. She doesn't have the choice to be discreet about her pregnancy.
I agree that she and her BF should have been more careful, but why on earth is she the only one getting sh!t for it?  It takes two to get pregnant.

Birth control doesn't always work. It's not 100% effective. The only thing that is 100% effective is abstaining. There are plenty of 16 year old girls out there that get pregnant and go on to live happy lives. But of course because she's related to Britney everyone has to judge her even more. Yes she's a celebrity - yes, her sister is a mess.
But do we know the circumstances well enough to automatically label her as white trash? I think that's a lazy way to do it.
Plus, everyone is coming down on her because she is 16 and should not be congratulated. Let me pose this question.
Suppose it was one of us, who at age 16, became PG - would you judge them and call them white trash? No, you wouldn't. You'd support them, offer them hugs and all that other hulabaloo that we do here. And there in lies the hypocrisy.
We don't know the circumstances - BC doesn't always work. Abstainence is the only way. And anyone on this board who is judging her, who was also sexually active at her age, really has no room to talk. Even if you were on BC, it still could have happened to you. You had sex knowing the risks.
