LIRR Monthly Ticket Question!
I want to try commuting to college from next semester on and am considering buying the monthly pass, but the lirr station close to my home (bayside) is on a different line. If i bought a monthly pass between Stony Brook(Zone 10) and Penn Station(Zone 1), would i also be able to use that to go to Bayside(Zone 3) since it's in a closer zone?

Re: LIRR Monthly Ticket Question!
Yes you can. They may or may not sk where you want to go but your Zone 10 ticket works for Zone 3.
I commute to Ronkonkoma and take the Port jeff line sometimes to Smith town or Stony brook . They're all Zone 10.

Re: LIRR Monthly Ticket Question!
Yes. That's not a problem.
I live close to the Auburndale station, but take the train from Floral Park since I take DD there every morning. I've been able to use my monthly just about anywhere I go.

Re: LIRR Monthly Ticket Question!
Should be fine.
I always figured that if I paid between Zone 1 & Zone 9 that anything inbetween was more than paid for. It never bothered me one bit if I had to take a train from a closer-to-nyc station.
