necessary or unnecessary

1. A bath spout cover
I don't think that's necessary at all.

2. dishwasher basket for bottle accessories
I don't have a dishwasher, but I think most parts can only go in the top rack, so it depends on if this thing fits on the top rack and if you would be running the DW enough to wash all the parts anytime you need a bottle. I washed bottles at least once a day sometimes more in the beginning.

3. white noise machine
We used a regular radio with a Mozart CD in it every night. You could just do that if you feel you need background noise.

4. bottle cooler- is a diaper bag good enough?
We used powder formula, so I never had to worry about keeping formula cold. When he started drinking milk, I used to put it in a regular lunch bag with an ice pack if we were going somewhere that I couldn't just put his milk in the fridge. I still do that now if we are going to a public place and I bring yogurt with me - throw it in my lunch bag with an ice pack. Instant cold!

1. We have one and it doesn't stay on our spout because our tub is from like 1970. So we never use it. And neither of my insane boys has yet to hit their head, so...

2. We always hand washed bottles b/c you need them so fast, unless you have a ton of bottles.

3. This can be handy if you live in a particularly loud or quiet house. We use an old ipod though.

4. I guess if you plan on using RTF this might be handy, but if you're going to use powder then I don't see why you'd need it.

1. A bath spout cover No, but since you won't need it till DC is a little older you can always buy one if you change your mind.

2. dishwasher basket for bottle accessories If you're using Dr. Brown's, yes. There are a ton of pieces and it makes life so much easier.

3. white noise machine YES. Sometimes it was the only thing that would calm dd. But, she also has the mamaroo and a glider that have sound options, so you might not need a separate one if you have a seat with sound.
4. bottle cooler- is a diaper bag good enough? For me, yes because I use RTF.

I have a bath spout cover and a bottle cooler, and am glad to have both. I like to make my bottles ahead of time, so the cooler is necessary for me. I like the peace of mind the bath tub spout cover gives me. If dc slips, it's one less thing to worry about them banging into. But as a pp said, you can get that later on, you won't need it for a few months. Never used a basket for the dishwasher bc I hand washed and used drop-ins. Never used a white noise machine.

For us a "sound machine" is a must
My two older daughters sleep with sound machines As does DH and I
So we are getting one for the baby.
But I never used anything else on that list.

YES to white noise - it's baby crack!

I didn't get the spout cover, if I decide to use one it wont be until the baby is closer to a toddler and actually moves around so I have time.

I got the dishwasher baskets and have yet to use them. I don't run my dishwasher often enough to use them (I only have 6 bottles because I didn't want to lose too much cabinet space so I just wash after use)

bottle cooler I use powder so there's no need

Spout cover... We have but it was only on the spout for a week before we got frustrated and just ripped it off so I'd say no.

Dishwasher basket... If you're using the dishwasher to clean bottles than yes, it's a must have. The parts need somewhere to go securely so they don't end up in the filter.

Sound machine... no. Don't have one, haven't needed one, don't plan to get for the new baby either

Bottle cooler... Like the others said, if you're using ready to feed formula or pumped milk, yes since it needs to be kept cold. If you're using powder, than no.

No (eventually when you transition to a real bath), probably not but cheap enough and I use one and like it so I say why not YES (only way my LO sleeps), maybe (if pumping or using premixed / premade formula)... Find a diaper bag with a cooler compartment so its one less thing to lug around and buy.

No to spout cover and white noise machine. I used the dishwasher basket. I didn't buy it but it was given to me in a shower basket. I don't run my dishwasher but I put the basket in my dish rack. I use the Playtex ventaire bottles and the pieces are contained in the basket to dry.

The cooler bag - I used powder too so I never had to keep formula cold. But I recently purchased one to keep DS' yogurt while we go out

I have a spout cover and while it is not necessary it has prevented dd from banging her head a few time and it was inexpensive. I used a bottle cooler (skip hop) for pumped milk and still use it for food when we travel.

I had a cooler bag but only because I used it for bottles to daycare.

None of them are really necessary unless it's something that you or your baby truly need. I had to buy a sound machine after DS was born because he was a terrible sleeper and he still uses it to this day at 4 y/o. I used a cooler bag but only because his daycare was at my job and it was a long trip. Otherwise I probably wouldn't have used it. I use the dishwasher basket because I find it really convenient when washing all the little pieces of straw cups, kiddie utensils, etc.

Our son's crib will be right next to the front door of our apartment and the hallway is noisy at night so we definitely need a sound machine. I registered for a spout cover because frankly, I had to register for more stuff and thought it was cute. I also registered for dishwasher basket because my sister-in-law recommended it!

I don't have any of those except the bath spout cover... and honestly that's only because it was cute and part of the whole set. Chat Icon C'mon- it's a little whale!!

ETA: Actually, I had my work shower yesterday and someone bought me a bottle cooler and I thought it was a good idea since I'm *hoping* to EBF. I had been considering it but was on the fence.

No to everything except the white noise machine. We used this from day 1 with DS. He's 6 and still uses it. He was a very light sleeper and needed it to be able to fall and stay asleep.

1. A bath spout cover
Definitely NO.

2. dishwasher basket for bottle accessories
For us, it was a definite YES.

3. white noise machine
Depends. Some babies need it, some don't. I used white noise for both of my kids, but it didn't make a difference for them. We have a machine that also plays music and projects onto the ceiling, so we got use out if it that way.

4. bottle cooler- is a diaper bag good enoug?
Definitely NO.

We have a spout cover, and I can't imagine not using it.
We also used the dishwasher basket, but I washed our bottles daily in the dishwasher.

Never used a white noise machine or a bottle cooler.
