No more masks for vaccinated people..... Indoors and outdoors
CDC doesn’t make laws, so there is no need to “enforce” it. Stores will still require masks as long as they want. I live in Texas, and our mask mandate was lifted in March. Stores still have signs saying they require masks. Most places don’t enforce it, but some still do. It will be a while before this guidance makes a difference.

My mistake, it's 61% of adults with at least one dose but that means we are still well on our way to 70% fully vaccinated.
Correct 1 dose is 60.9, full 50.4

I think for New York State they will require documentation for bigger events (concerts, sports, theater, etc.) via The NYS Wallet/Empire Pass. They will want to see that you have been vaccinated. I think stores won't care very soon. I'm vaccinated but I will probably still wear a mask at the grocery stores for a long time because I don't trust others

I hope there is clear guidance soon, especially for places like schools and gyms. I'm keeping my fingers crossed we're going to see some real changes, because I cannot, like many others, stand these masks anymore.

I think the real problem is it doesn't take a rocket scientist to predict that the people who will be quickest to take off their masks are also the least likely to be vaccinated.

The only reason I actually care about other people getting vaccinated is because there is no guarantee there will not be a more serious variant. The more unvaccinated people there are, the more likely that is to happen. I have ZERO desire to go back to March- May 2020 and I worry that is exactly what will happen come winter. There are no guarantees that we are out of the woods and no guarantees we will never again see a massive shutdown.

I never said this virus would ever disappear or that a more dangerous variant is a guarantee. All I said was there was no guarantee this is over. If we ever end up in another lockdown, you will be the first one freaking the hell out.

How else will we know if these vaccines are actually working if we don’t test them out by lowering the mandates?
Personally, I’ll be in a mask around anyone I don’t know in large groups whether they mandate it or not (just my own personal feeling) but we have to put these vaccines to the test and be around each other again - a little bit at a time

Your choice affects everyone around you. And IF hospitals become overrun again, (which is one of the main reasons the government had to get this under control), your quality of life can be significantly in danger. People seem to forget that that was really one of the reasons for all the shut downs, masks etc. The danger to the public in general when hospitals face a crisis of that magnitude is truly horrendous.

That's your response to everything. I don't think you have any idea how selfish you sound. People DIED. They f'ing DIED. Hospitals were completely overrun, someone on this site is very open about her PTSD after working in a hospital. She intubated a 6 month old who had covid, you know, the age group that never gets sick? She is a hero who never got to stay home and safe. Someone else on here has cancer and is terrified. But, yes, as long as YOU can do whatever the hell you want as you stand there with your MAGA hat and scream "muh rights" as people truly suffer and you whine and complain about missing being in a crowd at football games. What will you do when you realize you are not the center of the universe? Other people matter too. Not just you and your family. I actually don't believe you should be forced to take the vaccine, i agree with you. But the mask...get over yourself. It's a piece of cloth. Put on your big girl panties and for one day of your life, think of something beyond what you want. Life isn't about having a choice in everything and doing whatever the hell you want. Sometimes, you have to do things you don't like. Your parents should have taught you that when you were 5. Nobody wants to stay home forever. I'm out and about all the time, I don't get where you get this idea that people are locked up at home anymore. You're just a self centered human being and nothing will ever change that.
