So do we have to show our papers everywhere we go. It sounds very familiar to a time in history that this was mandatory thing. I know i see it.

Glad you do as others seem to be ignoring this.

Nope, they’re just trusting the American public to not be selfish assholes.
We all know how that will turn out!

Considering at least one person on this board already admitted they will lie about their vaccine status, you’re absolutely right. It’s sad.

I hope my comment about fake vaccine cards wasn't misconstrued. I never said I'd do that. I just said it would be pretty easy to do. And I already saw an article about someone caught doing it.
I never said I'd lie about it

No, it wasn’t you

Ok just checking. Chat Icon

I will happily walk around with my fake papers if the government keeps pushing these illogical non common sense rules to try to force people in getting the vaccine. I’m 1000000% against giving it to my child and I will fight tooth and nail as well as forgery for his health if they try to force me to give it to him for school. Felony here I come!

Meanwhile I have the antibodies and more safer to be around then the mask less vaccines folks. But that logic doesn’t matter. It’s all about the vaccine.

This is one of the most offensive things I've ever seen on this site. The long term goals of this situation vs what you're referring to are completely opposite.

You want to compare it to something, compare it to needing to carry a driver's license to operate a vehicle. You need a license bc getting behind the wheel of a car without a license can affect the health of people around you.

And the vaccine will not stop you from getting the virus. There are 8 fully vaccinated Yankees who have Covid.

I decided I’m going to adopt wearing a mask like they do in Japan. It’s been so nice not getting sick.

Exactly. And I’m not against the parasol idea either, lol! Their skin Is beautiful!

Yes!

I was thinking that this whole pandemic also made me reflect on all the times I dragged myself to work, trying to be a hero, when I was beyond sick.

It was foolish of me and selfish and me trying to be a hero and suck it up would just lead to a cycle of being understaffed the following week when someone else got sick.

So I hope others truly start to stay home now when sick. I know I will.

I agree. DD gets sick every October - like clockwork. Not this year. It's been great! Knock on wood.

Probably not as so many don’t have sick days and can’t afford to miss work. Us fortunate people don’t get how others live who are truly struggling and have to be at work or have multiple jobs.

First of all, you completely ignored more point which is pretty telling.

As for your Yankee anecdote, I know you must be loving that. No one ever said the vaccine stops the virus 100% of the time. It's very simple math here. They got the J&J vaccine which is only 72% effective so if 50 people were together you mathematically would expect 9 cases. This is no gotcha situation, it's exactly as you should predict. The other good news is none of them were seriously ill which is also what you would predict from the vaccine data available. As for me, this is why I chose to get Moderna when I was offered a choice between the two vaccines since Moderna is 95% effective once fully vaccinated.

Please stop. Your ignorance about this vaccine, its efficacy and how impactful it is at ending this pandemic is utterly staggering at this point.

It is mind boggling to me that you have ZERO concern for the many UNKNOWN, long term health effects of having had COVID but yet you're obsessed with the side effects of a vaccine that is made from components that have long being studied. I trust science and medicine far more than I trust a still relatively new, barely understood virus that is sweeping across the globe and where you can't even truly anticipate how your own immune system will behave should you get sick. It could be nothing, it could be death. The virus is the unknown, NOT the vaccine.

You run off at the mouth incessantly about how COVID is "no big deal". Yea, it's no big deal until you're sick with it, or someone you love is sick with it, or someone you know dies from it, or you yourself are suffering from health issues post-COVID. Just stop already.

Whether or not you want the vaccine does not change the FACT that it's 95% effective at protecting you against serious COVID complications, hospitalizations and death. That is medical FACT. Not opinion which is what you love to throw around endlessly day after day. Furthermore, NOBODY said you couldn't still get COVID after being vaccinated just like you could still get COVID even after having antibodies but it is RARE. So in the meantime, the more people that are vaccinated the less we have to worry about people becoming severely ill, suffering long term health effects or dying. The more resilient the population is as a whole, the less resilient the virus itself will be over time. A vaccinated population is a healthier population. Period. If you don't believe that then I presume you actually believe that polio or measles are still a thing we need to worry about.

We ALLLLLLLLL get that you're anti-vaccine. Cool. That's your choice. Nobody is forcing you onto the vaccine train BUT stop spouting off about how the vaccine doesn't work and everyone should "have the right" to decide whatever they want from masks to social distancing without ever giving a single f#$k about a single person around them. It's nonsense. You don't get to whine about how the world should be open and normal and at the same time not want to do anything to help us all get there.

I hope for your sake you or nobody in your family gets COVID but honestly, maybe if you experienced firsthand just how stressful it is to go through it and how you have to deal with so many UNKNOWNS while you're sick for weeks then maybe you'll stop coming on here with your condescending BS about how everyone (except you) is scared, and COVID is no big thing, and we should all just live life and have no regard for others.

I really am shocked by the things you say on here and your responses to so many others. You absolutely don't have a clue what you're talking about and it shows.

You're right though. When it comes to my daughter I will do ANYTHING to protect her. Just like the parents who would end up in jail if anyone touched their kid.
More so than myself. I'd get it myself if I absolutely had to- but like you- I'd fight tooth and nail for her to not have to get it. She's younger, still developing, hasn't even hit puberty yet.
I'm actually concerned about that- what if this vaccine affects her puberty development? All the talk of wonky cycles and breast issues in full grown women and we aren't concerened what this can do to a decloping reproductive system?
And for what? A virus that barely scathes kids that age even a little.
Where the hell has the logic gone? I'd love to know.

Again we don’t know if they would have been seriously ill WITHOUT the vaccine and greeting Covid.

I have no idea how this will be implemented but I think it's exciting news that we are continually moving towards our "old normal". This is why we all made the necessary accommodations early on, this is why most of us are getting vaccinated...........all so life can be normal again. As we move forward with life restarting everyone will always have the option to continue to take the precautions that are best for them.

For myself, I'm being psyched that indoor mask mandates will go away. I miss breathing freely and seeing people smile. I'm excited that other mandates are going away and that Broadway is reopening in a few months. It's all such good news. I'm thankful that the medical community was able to quickly get us a vaccine so we could be at this point. I feel like there is so much to look forward to again. Chat Icon

The problem with Broadway is the tickets are horrendously expensive :( I had a friend look and the farthest seats on the least busiest day was $600 a seat.

Enough with all the negativity already. For a year you bitched about having to wear a mask. Now news that masks are starting to go away (even if only for some right now) and you’re still arguing. What is it that you want???? Could you post something that is not negative or argumentative for once? (Rhetorical question - I know the answer)

I was stating the prices are horrendous so even if they open up, the average person can not afford to go. Chat Icon

but everything you post is so extreme. I got tickets to see Jagged Little Pill ( a very new and sought after show)- 2 tickets, 6th row orchestra- $306.

Go ahead, roll your eyes. This is ONE small example. You post negative and argumentative comments on EVERY SIGLE thread. It must suck to be you - you see everything in life so negatively. And you must be pure sunshine and rainbows to live with. Maybe try something different for a change. Just once. And I am not going to engage with you about this any further. So say whatever you want. My lack of response does not mean I agree with you or have nothing to say. I refuse to go down the rabbit hole with you

The same goes for you and anyone else spouting out things that you don’t truly know as this has not been tested enough to see what will happen in 3 months, 6 months or years to come.
I know people who have been sick and who have died. You act like I live in a bubble. My one kids friend had it months ago, all good but they were together all the time. Another friend just had Covid and I drove them back home after the test. My kid and this one spend almost everyday together. They spent that week long vacation together, 24/7 before they found out the day they came home. My other kid thinks they got it as they had loss of some taste and smell. Still think hubby had before this all came out as he was in bed for days. My sibling had it. My good friends had it. My good friends dad passed from it. My husbands good friends dad just passed.Do you want me to go on and on?
You are not the ONLY one that has Covid and just because I personally didn’t have it. Heck maybe I did and didn’t know as I didn’t have symptoms. As soon as I feel like I am coming down with something I boost my immunity with over the counter things.
Let people make their own decisions in life as I am sure it kills you that you can’t tell the entire world what to do. So you attack people online who have a different view than yourself.
It’s too nice of a day to be going back and forth with this. I will be doing the same thing today, masking up when I go into a store. Hoping Coumo will loosen up the rules. I have a kid who will graduate this year and can’t even do it with friends and family. It’s ridiculous.

It has disappeared. I think too many were cooped up at home too long and their common sense just died. They are willing to do anything now, even putting their kids health in jeopardy in the future for something that does not truly affect them.
This should be for people who have no immune systems or ones that are so bad that if they get sick, it could kill them.

That’s great but it is not extreme. It is the price they want for this certain show. I am sure you can find different prices for different shows. $306 seems high to me too, no?

Go ahead, roll your eyes. This is ONE small example. You post negative and argumentative comments on EVERY SIGLE thread. It must suck to be you - you see everything in life so negatively. And you must be pure sunshine and rainbows to live with. Maybe try something different for a change. Just once. And I am not going to engage with you about this any further. So say whatever you want. My lack of response does not mean I agree with you or have nothing to say. I refuse to go down the rabbit hole with you

Sorry I had to share bad news. Hope you have a lovely day. I intend to :)

My bad I misread thinking it was one. The other show was for only 1 ticket more than that.

No more masks for vaccinated people..... Indoors and outdoors

She still won't answer the question so many have...how is it that you think everything in this life is a choice and you should always be allowed to do exactly what you want without any regard for the greater good? And I'm not talking about the vaccine...the vaccine should not be mandatory, although I am fine with vaccinated people being allowed to do more. They are better protected, it makes sense.
I am speaking of masks, social distancing, have an ounce of compassion and human decency.
Side note- I got tickets to take my son to see Hamilton as his Christmas gift- the most sought after show in Broadway history- and I spent nowhere near $600 per seat.

I think the real problem is it doesn't take a rocket scientist to predict that the people who will be quickest to take off their masks are also the least likely to be vaccinated.

Ding Ding Ding!!!!!!

They complain about wearing the mask but then don't want to get vaccinated.

They want their cake and eat it too.

And the most likely to lie about symptoms and more and be indifferent to public health and the wellbeing of others. It's better to let people show themselves so you know what you're dealing with--societally and in real life.

The misinformation, shaming, and sowing of confusion and unfounded doubt are just the cherry on top.

If we get fully past this, it will be thanks to science and decency. If we wind up back in lockdown, we will know why and how.

Here is the right response for those who are not into the Covid vaccine, yes all of you that are vaccinated are right. I am selfish and now I am going to run out and get the vaccine for me and anyone in my family who hasn’t gotten it yet. You are all so wise and caring thank you so much for caring about the world. Even though I have reservations I will go get it because you are awesome and I want to be awesome too.

Eh, I don't know. I don't think these types of generalizations are fair. I know many people, myself included, who were eager to get the vaccine and got it, and are also quite eager to remove the masks. I know people who are ok with the masks, but don't want, or are hesitant about, the vaccine.

I think the partisan nature of masks and vaccines has caused a lot of trouble, and these types of generalizations contribute to the trouble.
