Is everyone registering?
Just hit 20 weeks today - half way there!
I started one online for the bigger things that I read about in the baby bargains book. I want to go after my anatomy scan on 4/9 to register at the store for the rest of the essentials.

That's awesome! We did two different trips - and just did another one yesterday after anatomy scan, it helps knowing sex to wrap things up. So fun! I love the scanning lol

I bought it a few weeks ago and I think it was from last year. But I feel like I've also read they don't update every single year, maybe every other year?

Yes, I think they update it every year because I downloaded a sample of the 2013 book and they upgraded me for free to the 2014 version. I was able to download the most recent version to my tablet.

OH! Good to know. I haven't gotten that notification yet, I'll look into it. Probably not that many differences.

I only gained a few lbs but that's a good thing bc I was overweight beforehand, so I'm pleased.
18 wks tommorrow and I do not think I have felt the baby kick or move yet :( but I do tend to rub my belly more. I still feel like I'm not really showing. But we still have plenty of time for that.
We go in Friday for the big 5 month tests. I should find out then the sex of the baby. Assuming that, we are having a reveal with our family on Saturday (doing cupcakes). So excited to start shopping and then it will feel real.
Ps- started taking pre natal yoga an love it. I really think its going to help with aches. :) anyone else taking a pre natal class. I also know Winthrop has some... I need to look into signing up for some classes.
You'll start feeling the baby move soon! My doctor told me sometimes it happens more closer to 20 weeks - everyone's different! I tend to only feel him/her if I'm sitting down and not moving around and its completely quiet or just ate something they enjoy lol.
Where are you taking pre-natal yoga? I was thinking of getting a DVD to start this weekend because my body just needs to stretch out.
So fun that you're finding out this week! It's a good week for us August girls!
Taking prenatal yoga in Freeport and breathe and flow. I looked everywhere by where I live and work for a place. I live in long beach and really only found prenatal (evening or weekend classes) in Freeport and rockville centre. Wound up being Freeport place was in groupon so I took it as a sign and bought it. It's hard but I know I need the stretching and seems like really nice girls also doing it. Nice to be with people all in the same boat. Highly recommend.. And that comes from someone who does not regularly go to a gym, etc.

Re: *** Official August 2014 Thread ***
So we did a reveal with our whole family last night (almost 20 people at my small place)... It was amazing! We are having a girl. I am so excited bc it makes it seem so real. Already thinking about names.
To be completely honest I think my hubby is a little sad bc he really wanted a boy first... Obviously we are happy if our child is just healthy... And I know our child will be such a daddy's girl anyway.
Our room that will be a nursery is green. So I am thinking of possibly keeping it anyway and maybe doing one accent wall in purple or something and tying in another color that way.
I am not really into alot of pink... Anyone else having a girl this way as well? Maybe it will change once I see all the baby items.
On another note.... Let the shopping begin!

I completely understand what you mean...with DH being a little sad and the pink thing. We're both thrilled the baby is healthy and everything is looking great. DH is getting used to the fact that he has to learn the girl stuff in his head...and thinks that any girl will be a girly girl. I doubt she will if she's anything like her mom...she'll play with legos, matchbox cars and get dirty.
For the nursery we're thinking of doing all beige walls with a pink or purple band going around the top. I was thinking of doing a Winnie the Pooh theme room...nothing over the top. But doing tan with a band of pink and then something like this for the quilt:

Re: *** Official August 2014 Thread ***
Is everyone thinking about baby showers? My bridal shower was a surprise and I had no say (which is hard for a type A personality)... So my mom is allowing me some say in my baby shower. At first (being Jewish) I was hesitant to have one but now I am glad we are doing it bc I am having a girl (so we will not be having a bris the first week after the baby is born) would have felt bad having people bring two gifts, etc.
We are doing it 3rd weekend in June. I wanted an outdoor/dock resturant but they were kind of hard to find. So I think we are going to stick to a very cute local place in long beach where I live.
I want to be creative and have one or two games to keep people busy but nothing too crazy. Any cute ideas? Any cute themes your planning? I need creative ideas :)

Hey ladies. We really need to start figuring out what we're doing with the nursery now that we know we're having a little and we ordered our crib, which is ready for pick-up at any time at Buy Buy Baby. Woo!
Thinking of some kind of gray/white with an accent wall of some kind - not sure what exactly yet. Too many ideas.
Re: shower, mine's booked for early June - 2 months before baby's due. No idea re: themes, etc., but looking forward to it!

We are doing a gray and white chevron theme with teal walls since there's a chance we will have both genders with the twins. We are then choosing an animal accent like owls to put up in the nursery. I found the idea on pinterest.

We booked our shower for June 14th at Cafe Formaggios (used to be called Spasso). For the theme we are matching what we are doing in the nursery but different colors.

Next step - glucose test!

How are we doing ladies???
I'll be 20 weeks tomorrow. My 20 week appointment is actually next Friday when I'll be 21 weeks. I'm feeling good...getting bigger and bigger by the day.
DH and I have started to register. I think we have the big items tackled. We have crib, dressers, glider, car seat and stroller all picked out. We'll do one maybe two more trips to BBB and BRU and finish out the more "fun" stuff on the registry.
Nursery décor and names...now that's a different story! DH and I can't decide on either!
What's everyone else up to?

I'll be 21 tomorrow - congrats on passing half way mark! It's still unreal to me that I'm at this point, but I guess the daily growing belly proves it.

Re: *** Official August 2014 Thread ***
Hope everyone is doing well! I am 19 weeks and although my morning sickness, which lasts all day, is easing up a bit, it's still there! How are you all coming along with names? With my first, we talked names, debated three of them and then waited to meet him to decide. With my second, we committed to a name way too early (20 weeks) and then by the time she came, wasn't in love with the name but felt we had been calling her this all along. I'm not sure if I want to talk names this early on but since it's our third, it may be a battle as we have already picked our "favorite" names!

DH and I are having a tough time with girl names. We each have a list going but feelings change on a day to day basis. If we waiver on the name...we'll remove it from the list. There are a few that has stayed on there so far....but like we're telling everyone...it'll probably be a game time decision. We'll have a better idea when it's closer to August but can't guarantee it'll be set in stone.
We had the boys name all picked out ready to go...and then found out we're having a girl. Girl names are tough for us.

We have no boys names at all - not even a list of the top 5, 10, 20 whatever. We had a girls name picked out before I was even pregnant, but now need to find a name we both love as much as we loved the girls name No pressure, only need to decide on it in less than 5 months! lol

We've had our boy name picked out since before I was pregnant, girl names on the other hand were an issue. Luckily we are having a boy! It's cute because DH will talk to my belly and call the baby by name already.
