We've had our boy name picked out since before I was pregnant, girl names on the other hand were an issue. Luckily we are having a boy! It's cute because DH will talk to my belly and call the baby by name already.
So stinkin' cute!!! So great you guys had name picked out.
For some reason boy names are impossible for us lol I might just have to make one up most likely

Re: *** Official August 2014 Thread ***
My registry is pretty bare right now...we only picked the stroller, car seat and furniture. Baby Bargains (thanks AKD!!!!!) and recommendations from current moms were a huge help. We picked the stroller first and that helped to narrow down the car seat options.
Not sure when we'll go next to do the rest of the registering but current moms have given a couple lists of must haves.

Here's what we did - in case it's helpful! Made registering completely stress-free.
1) Sign up for the registeries online so when you get to the store, all you need is the scanner and don't need to deal w/ paperwork.
2) Go once to BBB/BRU and just look around, get used to the store, the items they have. We did this before even registering and it just helped us not feel overwhelmed.
2) Once you're ready, we started with the big ticket items - that was stroller, car seat. I took the top three items recommended by Baby Bargains and went to Buy Buy Baby as one trip for just that to look at them. We went first thing in the morning so we were literally the only ones there and got to play around w/ both items, especially the stroller. We ended up choosing these two items fairly quickly (we went with the UppaBaby Cruz stroller and Chicco Keyfit 30 carseat), so we decided to just look around. We ended up choosing a few other bigger items that day (bath tub insert, swing, bouncing thing, high chair) and I think the swaddle blankets from Aden & Anais
3) We then went another day to look at all the other things. Here's an idea of what I have in my registry of items - we have about 70 items in total, I don't think we'll be adding anymore. I also am registered at Pottery Barn Kids for things like stuffed animals, blankets, crib sheets bc we loved what they had. We also did this in the store.
- Bibs - Halo Sleepsack - Aden & anais swaddle blankets - Humidifier - Baby Monitor (Motorola) - Temporal Thermometer - Shampoo giftset - High Chair - 2 different gift packs of bottles (I didn't register for a lot bc I've read it will really depend on what the baby likes, so we just got some starter kits) - Pacifiers -Breast feeding cover-up - Boppy pillow - Drying rack for bottles + accessories (the "Boon Lawn" is what I put on there) - Tub thing - Washlcoths - Bath tub toys - Changing pad + 2 chagning pad covers - Stroller + accessories + car seat adapter - Car seat - Bundle Me for winter - JJ Cole Head Support - Auto Mirror - Ergobaby carrier - Bouncer (rainforest jumperoo) - Actvitiy gym - Changing station thing that comes in a mini bag - Diaper bag - Actvitiy table that has different games for them - for when they can stand (V-Tech) - A bunch of different toys and a few books -Sleep Sheep - A walker - Dekor Plus Diaper disposal + bag refills - Baby Swing (Rockaroo) - Pack 'n play with newborn sleeper
Hope that's helpful. Just realized I just typed up a novel LOL I also had a few mommies look at it and give me advice which was beyond helpful.
Any questions, feel free to reach out!

Hey ladies! Just checking in to see how everyone is feeling?!
I've been very uncomfortable already! Lol I can't believe how early it started but I guess it's normal with twins. We are also buying a house and waiting for a closing date. Fingers crossed I'm able to help in someway with the move :)

for the closing date!!!!
You'll be able to help in someway...even sitting and directing people where they can go is a huge help!!!
I'm feeling good...21 weeks last Friday and went to the dr for our 20 week visit...quick and easy appointment. Calling for the anesthesia consult appointment this week. Will see when they want to get me in. Have to talk to them about epidural since I had back surgery a while back...dr suggested I talk with them and see if there's anything needed (MRI) for them to determine if I'm able to have the epidural.
Cardiologist apt is coming up on 4/18 - DH has a heart condition so we'll go get that checked out...but all looked good on the anatomy scan.
Currently working on the nursery and are planning to make 2 more trips to BBB to add more to the registry.
Also working on names...that's looking to be one of the last things we'll accomplish...girl names are just tough for us.

Hey girlies - I'm feeling pretty good. Have a bunch of travel for work coming up so not looking forward to being exhausted, but doctor said should be totally fine until I'm 32 weeks (air travel) so just need to get through jet-lag. Baby is moving around like a lot especially when I eat fruit.
2 more weeks until glucose test!

Re: *** Official August 2014 Thread ***
Please ladies help me! I am so confused about strollers and registering. I was originally informed that I need an infant car seat and a snap and go for that. And then the stroller I picked out has an adapter if I want te car seat to go into it but u need to strap it in? Now my friend said her stroller (not a snap and go) fit perfectly into her stroller and did not need to strap anything in... Thus she did not get the strap and go and doesn't get why people need/use it.
Please help! What do I register for?!!? If it matters I think I am registering for the city select by jogger.

I registered for the stroller (Cruz), car seat adapter to make the Chicco keyfit car seat we registered for fit. No snap and go.

Re: *** Official August 2014 Thread ***
We registered for the City Mini stroller and the Britax B Safe car seat. We picked out the stroller first. Had the top 3 car seats in mind (Chicco, Britax and Gracco). Only two were compatible...one you needed an "arm" extension that wouldn't let you easily collapse the stroller. The Britax has a small adapter that you do not have to remove to collapse the stoller.
Hope that helps!!

What's everyone up to?
Im moving a long at lightening speed....
DH painted the room and we had furniture delivered (got it on sale and it came wayyyyy faster than expected!) We also purchased our bedding already.
I completed my registry and I know my mom and mil booked my shower/sprinkle....
This time of year is soooo crazy for me at work and even crazier at home with my kids and sports; so I guess its kinda good we are ahead of the game....
How about you?

I have my anatomy scan on Monday 4/14, getting excited to see my little man again.
In the process of cleaning and packing my apartment for the move at the end of the month. We had to cancel our babymoon to Newport so we could move but I wanted out of that apartment ASAP so for me it is worth it. We will probably do an overnight thing memorial day weekend.
Finished our registry a few days ago.

Serious lightning speed!!! Awesome you have so many things done!!!
We're making progress...slowly...but it's progress.
We have the paint picked up and sitting in the nursery. DH is going to do the first coat this Sunday. His schedule Mon-Sat is crazy so Sat nights and Sun are the only time we really have to get things done.
Furniture is picked....have to talk to family cause I know a few wanted first dibs on the "larger" items which include furniture.
Still working on the name though...names keep getting tossed around but nothing has really stuck just yet.
Cardiologist appointment set for next Friday the 18th...hoping for Good News on Good Friday. Everything looked good on the anatomy scan but with family history we need to have it checked out.
Our registry is pretty bare...just stroller, car seat and furniture so far. Will make a couple more trips to add the rest on...we have some time as the shower is not going to be till July.

Re: *** Official August 2014 Thread ***
Sounds like everyone's making some great progress! Here's where I am:
- The crib is officially in the baby room, it's still in the box but we brought it home because it was available right away at BBB. - We still haven't figured out paint color/theme for the room - hoping we can do that this month so we can paint next month and set things up. I only need to get whatever decorations there are and the chair/side table, so not too much to go once we decide on what we're doing - We decided on a name - Baby shower is set and registry is pretty much done, so just working through details now and invites go out next week
Otherwise, all is good. Glucose test is on 4/21, so hoping I'm able to pass that. In the mean time, stuffing my face w/ pizza for lunch. It's a good day.

:) That's exactly how we felt! I really was waiting for us to decide last minute, but we ended up going through the baby book, re-arranging letters on a name we liked, and voila, once we both said it I was in tears. Yay! That was the main thing I was concerned with hah. How are you guys doing w/ names?

That's great!! We have a name all set as well. Are you keeping the name a surprise? We are and now that everyone knows (family/friends) that it will be a surprise they have stopped asking.
