Hope all who are having morning (night) sickness are starting to feel better!!! Mine is more of a bad taste in my mouth after eating which leads to nausea and more eating lol.
I went to the ER last week. I felt like I was going to faint and my hands and legs were shaky and weak. They ruled out everything but have to go see a cardiologist. Never had big issues with my son so praying for a similar pregnancy with this one. I got to sneak a quick peak at the ultra sound, but not really. They weren't that into me looking lol.
They did say there was a small amount of blood around the baby, but shouldn't be anything too serious. I have to follow up with my OB today when I have my first appt. anyway. Hopefully its nothing. Does anyone know anything about this?
Soooo excited to finally see my baby tonight! I am 10 weeks tomorrow and finally going to see the dr!!!! YAY :)
Glad everything is okay now and hope it continues to be ok! Have fun tonight!! I wish I could go back again now for 10 week test, but I guess I can just wait until next Tuesday lol.
we've told immidiate family members and like 3 close friends. Nobody has said anything to anyone else, so we should be good to go until we start telling people after next week.
I'm terrified of the 12 week - just hope all is ok!!!
Major tests are done at ten weeks or between 11-12 weeks? Ie: Down syndrome testing etc.
I'm going back to the dr for the third time on wed. And I will be exactly ten weeks. I'm hoping to get the tests done then (which is really the only thing holding me back from telling the rest of my friends I'm pregnant). Cannot wait to see the baby again. :)
Yeah dr. just told me they do the major testing between 11 and 13 1/2 weeks. I set up my appt. for next Friday and I will be 11w3d. We are holding off on everyone except immediate family for those results too.
Then theres a second part to conclude the test at 15-16w that gives the final chance for down, tris, and the other one. Ill be happy when they are all over :)

When is everyone planning on starting to tell others and announce the pregnancy? We're thinking next week after our 12w exam, we'll tell more people in person and by following week, announce it on Facebook type of thing.

I can't wait for those tests to be over. First part of our test is 2/3 with our 12 week appt 2/4.
Do you have to do the second part of the test? Or is that only if the first part shows a possibility?

We are telling our moms and sisters this weekend. DH is so excited, he is busting at the seams to tell people. Me I could wait a little longer.
We will slowly spread the news to extended family after this weekend.

If I wasn't showing already, it would be a lot easier to wait longer. i know people that have waited until 16-18 weeks because they don't start showing, not case with me. I'm busting out maternity full on clothes after the NT scan lol

My husband and I are the same way! lol! We've announced to both families with our last two children and I'm so over it! This time around, everyone is getting a photo postcard as our announcement! They can call or send texts when they open their mail! lol! I am 8 weeks now and waiting until 12 weeks to hit the post office!

Wonder if ill be over it with my second child? Since my mom already told the world I already told her that they will not know about the second one until I'm at least 3 months. Hard to keep it a secret this time bc I'm so sick so everyone I see in person more or less comes to find out.
On a side note... What hospital is everyone giving birth at? I'm Winthrop which I heard is good but my family knows nothing about and keep ya nagging me as to why I'm not at LIJ or stony brook (both hospitals my family likes). Get over it family! Ha

I'm at LIJ - Katz. Heard nothing but great things about it. My SIL and anyone else that has given birth in the past few years has delivered at Winthrop and I've heard nothing but great things about that hospital as well. It's a personal choice...to me LIJ is closer to home.

I forget if my doctor is LIJ or NSUH, I always get them mixed up but I'm pretty sure it's NSUH. It's closer to home and I love the doctor I found so it works out. My friend gave birth at Winthrop recently in November and liked her experience there - just her room was tiny because she had a share, but otherwise didn't hear anything bad at all.
I can't wait to tell everyone. Starting Tuesday, coming out to the world.

I'll be delivering at Winthrop. I just had to change OBs because of insurance. If I was at my old OB I would be delivering at LIJ.
1st appointment with the new OB tonight. Excited to see my little gummy bear again!!!!

Who are you meeting with? I use Robert nadell in garden city. So far he has been a pleasure and answers all my questions. I have already seen the baby 3x. Every appt I meet with him and he answers all my silly questions. My husband is a tough critic and even he loves him!

Dr. Rebecca Storch at Women's Contemporary Care. There are a several OBs there so I'm sure I will be meeting with a few of them.

I'll be at Winthrop as well! I delivered my son there in September of '09 - it was a great experience. I've heard that a lot has changed there, though, and not for the better.

I don't know if I will be delivering there anymore. I went to see my new ob and while I loved her and she made me laugh when I was upset. The office is in my opinion old and dirty...and to boot when I get there they say I'm sorry to inform you but as of TODAY we don't accept your insurance...I told them I made the appointment a month ago and this is unacceptable. I pretty much told the medical assistant and the OB that I was not going to be returning. And when they finally take me back the medical assistant insisted that since this is my first appointment (even though I was released from my RE) that they need to treat it as a missed period appointment and I need to take a pregnancy test to confirm...I almost went through the roof.
The OB Dr. Storch was really nice though even looked on DH's phone to see if she knew any other OBs that took my plan.
So I'm spending the day at work with the million things I have to do today, looking for a new OB!!

At this point I really don't care. Anywhere from Garden City to West Islip is fine for me. I'll go south shore or north shore. I live in Deer Park and work in Westbury.
I have a plan through the NYS health exchange so my choices are really limited.
But I will take any references, it doesn't hurt to call and ask.
Thanks everyone!!

Re: *** Official August 2014 Thread ***
I found a new OB. Thanks for the recommendations, but your OBs were all out of network. I have an appointment at Garden Ob/gyn on Monday at the Garden City office. I am seeing a PA on Monday who works with Dr. Terrani who seems to have very positive reviews.
Phew, what a relief!! I will also still be delivering at Winthrop!
and, DH is off of work on Monday because of MLK day and can pick me up from work to take me to my appointment
