I am having a really tough couple of weeks. I thought my morning sickness was closing down (from 4x a day to 1-2x a day) but then at the end of last week I got horrible back pain. I had to take the day off of work and my husband got scared and took me to the hospital. We found out most likely it is the baby sitting on the sciatic nerve which is getting progressively worse. The pain is now traveling down my legs. I spoke to my dr who told me at this point I cannot do much more than relax, take tylonyl and hope the baby moves soon.
Has anyone had/having this? Hope it ends soon. The pain could bring me to tears. I am trying to stay positive and tell myself how lucky I am to even be pregnant but it's hard to stay happy.
On a side note the hospital my husband took me to was Winthrop (where I am giving birth) and I must say as soon as they found out I was pregnant I was treated with VIP service! So anyone giving birth there should be rest assured. Great care!
I go back to my dr tommorrow morning (ahh!) for the 12 week testing so I am nervous but also excited and happy I get to complain to him about my back again. Ahh.
Post this under a different thread and see if anyone has gone through this before. I'm a FTM but with back problems (back surgery when I was 17) so I feel your back pain! Would stretching possibly help? I know that stretching your legs could help loosen up the back.
Yeah to the appt tomorrow though!!!!

Re: *** Official August 2014 Thread ***
Posted by WhiskeyTangoFoxtrot I'm going back to my OB this afternoon for them to check my BP. When I went to urgent care on Sunday for the bronchitis, my BP was 145/90. they told me to follow up with my doctor. I had pre-e at the end with my son, hoping this one doesn't follow the same pattern. My urine had no protein in it though, which is a good sign.
Good luck today with the BP!!!!

I had my NT Scan on Friday and he/ she was so wiggly again! All looked good, but need to get the blood work results back before I can relax and tell every one. It was so exciting! DS1 barely used to move at all, uh oh lol :)

Re: *** Official August 2014 Thread ***
Hi ladies.
I have some news.
My OB called me yesterday with the results of the MaterniT21 bloodtest. It came back positive for Trisomy 13 (not compatible with life, essentially). He is very optimistic that this is a false positive and that everything is fine. My sonos have been picture perfect. Baby has been measuring exactly where it should be. The NT scan was excellent, all other bloodwork came back negative (T18, T21, all other genetic abnormalities).
I have an appointment with a high-risk perinatologist this afternoon at 3:00. They will be doing an in-depth sonogram. Nothing will be definitive until I have an amnio in about 3 weeks.
If you could, please say a prayer for my little baby.
Thank you so much and I will update when I can.

Sending so many to you and your baby!!! I know this is easier said than done, but stay positive as much as possible and I am hopeful just like your doctor that it's a false positive.

Praying hard!
These tests are so amazing and helpful, but those false positives are a dime a dozen and what it does to a pregnant persons anxiety is lethal! Stay strong, have faith!!!!
On the brighter side.... did you find out the babies gender????

We will find out 100% for sure later today, but I peeked at the doctors report yesterday and saw something about a Y chromosome. I don't know if it was that it was present or not present, but I'm guessing it's another for me.

Hoping it's a false positive and the scans seem to lead me in that direction!

Woohoo! How's the back pain???
Getting a prenatal massage tonight. My dr recommended trying that first. Then trying acupuncture or pt if that does not help. He said if massages help that I should go weekly (which is just fine with me) :)

Hi! The appointment was good - the specialist (who was WONDERFUL, by the way) was very optimistic. He said that things that he would see if my baby did have T13 were NOT present. I go back on the 21st for an early anatomy scan and an amnio. The scan will be looking specifically at the chambers of the heart, the brain and the spinal cord. It's still about a 10% shot that something is wrong, but I'll take it.
We also found out definitively that we are having a

Sooo glad to hear that the appointment went well, thought of you earlier today. It's good to know when youre in good hands, atleast with me it gives me relief. Congratulations on the boy!!! So wonderful! I think since your sonos look so good so far and things are developing on track, that gives a lot of reassurance.

How's everyone doing on this yucky snowy Monday (it would be a much better Monday if I was home on the couch in my PJ's!)
We finally announced to everyone including Facebook yesterday that we're expecting. It feels soooo goood and makes me even more excited and a tiny bit like this is real (it still doesn't feel real lol)

I announced on social media as well this weekend. I finally feel a little free. On a side note, the massage helped my back 90% and my naseousness is a little better, so I'm pretty much a happy camper (minus this weather!)

Probably bi-weekly for another week or two and then monthly/as needed. Just bc of the expense. If they were cheaper I would go daily. It feels amazing!
