I found a new OB. Thanks for the recommendations, but your OBs were all out of network. I have an appointment at Garden Ob/gyn on Monday at the Garden City office. I am seeing a PA on Monday who works with Dr. Terrani who seems to have very positive reviews.
Phew, what a relief!!
and, DH is off of work on Monday because of MLK day and can pick me up from work to take me to my appointment
That's great news!!!!

That was seriously AMAZING. We got to see so many kicks, see the feet, hands, little munchkin even did a few flips while we were watching. Measurements in the neck looked good too. Soooo relieved and ecstatic. Here's our munchkin sucking its thumb

Love it!! I loved every moment of our US. All of our measurements came out good as well. Seeing our jumping bean and how much he/she has grown and is moving in such a short period of time is truly amazing and magical. One of the doctors at the practice did the US and asked if I wanted to know the gender. I told him I know it's too early to know for sure and I won't hold him to what he says and if he wanted to take a guess that's fine by me. He said it looks like we may be having a.............................. We'll deff know for sure by our 16 week appt though! I am so excited!!
Has anyone else had a doctor/midwife/sonographer predict the gender this early?

My doctor had said he is able to do it sometimes very early on when the baby is in just the right position. He said don't get your hopes up bc sometimes you expect to find out and the baby's legs are closed, etc etc. so lucky you!

Super exciting!!!! I can't believe they could tell this early! Our baby's legs were spread apart lol but we didn't ask, I thought about it but because it's so early, I don't want it to make me think one thing just in case! So fun. yes it really is magical how much growth happens!!!!

Re: *** Official August 2014 Thread ***
Had my NT scan last night, everything looks absolutely perfect! sono tech said that the probability of Downs is virtually zero from what she could see, my doc agreed.
Had blood drawn for the MaterniT21 test, I should know the results in about 2 weeks or so - doc will call, but we're choosing to wait until my 16-week appt on the 17th so DH and I can find out together. I didn't want to know before him and just be like "Honey, I spoke to the doctor today, we're having a or , please pass the broccoli"
12 weeks tomorrow!!!!!

How are we all doing ladies?
I have my scan next week at LIJ for my sequential screening. How do they give you the odds for downs or other chromosomal disorders? Do they give a percentage? Or is it a 1 out of whatever # thing?

Re: *** Official August 2014 Thread ***
I am having a really tough couple of weeks. I thought my morning sickness was closing down (from 4x a day to 1-2x a day) but then at the end of last week I got horrible back pain. I had to take the day off of work and my husband got scared and took me to the hospital. We found out most likely it is the baby sitting on the sciatic nerve which is getting progressively worse. The pain is now traveling down my legs. I spoke to my dr who told me at this point I cannot do much more than relax, take tylonyl and hope the baby moves soon.
Has anyone had/having this? Hope it ends soon. The pain could bring me to tears. I am trying to stay positive and tell myself how lucky I am to even be pregnant but it's hard to stay happy.
On a side note the hospital my husband took me to was Winthrop (where I am giving birth) and I must say as soon as they found out I was pregnant I was treated with VIP service! So anyone giving birth there should be rest assured. Great care!
I go back to my dr tommorrow morning (ahh!) for the 12 week testing so I am nervous but also excited and happy I get to complain to him about my back again. Ahh.

I'm feeling ok - I have bronchitis though, so I've been trying to not pee myself when I have a coughing fit.
I'm going back to my OB this afternoon for them to check my BP. When I went to urgent care on Sunday for the bronchitis, my BP was 145/90. they told me to follow up with my doctor. I had pre-e at the end with my son, hoping this one doesn't follow the same pattern. My urine had no protein in it though, which is a good sign.
