Wow Jess, beautiful story. I think that sometimes, life finds a way...
It's crazy, I know! But it happens. My aunt had five miscarriages (back in the late 70's early 80's) before she had my two cousins... no fertility treatments (there really were none back then, it was just being developed). She always called her eldest her little miracle.

On a side note, DH was really able to feel baby boy kicking up a storm last night, and he fell asleep with his hand on my belly! It was so incredibly precious!

You have every right to want more babies and have the family of your dreams. I hate when people say, "you should be so blessed with what you have". My cousin is going through this right now. She wants 1 more but people are so insensitive to her... Our plan was to transfer 1 frozen embie in September! I think it's miraculous how the body figures out what to do.
I tell everyone the story of my grandma. After a little over 3 years of trying and losses (that we can guess, not confirmed as it was almost 60 years ago).... My grandmother went on to have FOUR kids in FIVE years. This was before the time of any sort of medical treatments. Sometimes, for some people, your bodies just need a little extra time to "figure it out". Now a days we are blessed with medical knowledge, technology, and medicine, which could have helped her achieve pregnancy sooner, but it happens!
Don't ever let anyone make you feel bad for hoping for or wanting to love another child.
Almost the same with my grandma! She couldn't conceive - took 6 years of trying and then she had 4 kids- every two years! It's amazing what your body can do! This is why we tried unmedicated for a few cycles for #2. If I wasn't such a nut with how close I wanted them (and the fact that I was always set in my mind to be done by 30) I might have tried longer unmedicated!

Hey, if the medicated works for you, go for it!!! I'm sure our grandma's would have done the medicated route if it was available for them - I know mine would have, she was SO MAD when her baby sister got pregnant the months she got married and there was my grandma, still not preggo years later.

*** OFFICIAL DECEMBER 2014 THREAD ***
I had my anatomy scan today. The issue they saw last time seems to be gone. They did note that where the baby is attached to the placenta is a little off so I'll have to continue to be monitored for growth restriction. Right now he is growing fine and they don't seem too concerned. I feel a little better today.
Oh and I finally went maternity shopping and got some clothes for the fall. I mostly got clothes for work. I bought A LOT so think I am good for a long time.

Yay! I'm glad it went well. I'm of the 'if the doctor isn't concerned, I won't be concerned' philosophy.

Yeah, I'm trying to be that way too. Hopefully I will be done going to the MFM drs and just be able to see my OB. I go to the OB on Wed to see what he thinks and to see how I'm doing. I have finally gained some weight and have a little bump. Now that everything is looking better we will tell more people the news. I told work today.

Babydreams, don't let them scare you. their only job is to cover their butts and keep you healthy at all costs. Why do you have to stop going to your MFM?

I know, that's my philosophy, but if you were to ask my DH, he'd tell you that I don't always follow it.

Has anyone started thinking about setting up hospital tours? I'm trying to decide when to set that up for. I know it has to be around DH's insane schedule, but I don't want to wait for the last minute on this.

I'm trying to decide if what I'm feeling is the baby move or not lol. I'm 21 weeks, FTM. I'm feeling little pokes and bubbles every so often. The only thing that is making me second guess it is the doctor told me that the placenta is up front, so it will take me a bit longer to feel anything. Any one have any ideas?

Oo I didn't really even think to do this, I mean I heard other people doing it, but now that its getting a bit closer I'm thinking that it wouldn't be a bad idea. But I have no input lolol sorry.

With DD we did it around 34 weeks. I think later you may have more or different questions, you may know you're having a csection for one reason or another, etc. I took some notes but even still it was hard to remember everything. I would look into the schedule of when they're offered so you can try to plan ahead but maybe wait to actually schedule.

Yeah, I can't remember exactly, but I think we did it around that time too. I also forgot a lot in between the tour and our labor/delivery class and the time I gave birth, even with notes, so I'd say a little later is probably better.
Anyone's dr mention the GD screening yet? Just got my script for the lab. Seems earlier to me than last time, but this whole pregnancy is really flying compared to last time too, so maybe that's it.
Also, any second time Mom's LOs watch Daniel Tiger? Am I the only crazy person who's psyched for the new baby's debut next week, lol?

Yup, I'm going next week for the GD screen - I should be seeing my doctor this week (this week would have been 4 weeks from my last apt), but she wanted me to wait it out one week so we could do the GD screen at the same time, since I'm 24 weeks on Saturday and that's the soonest they recommend doing it.

Thanks. I know they have to cover themselves. I went there because the sono tech at my OBs office saw an issue with the bowl. The same issue was seen at 17 weeks at the MFM at the hospital. Yesterday at 20 weeks the issue seems to have cleared up! They said my OBs office can monitor it going forward or I can come back. They said to talk to my OB tomorrow at my appointment. They want me to be monitored for growth restriction also due to where the baby is connected to the placenta. They said they weren't worried and everything looked good. I feel better!

I did hospital tour with my first at 36 weeks. I took the whole day class and hated it- it was pointless. Since I'm most likely delivering at the same hospital, I won't do another tour. The best part about the class was the actual tour! I definitely recommend that.
Speaking of which - where is everyone delivering?? I should be at Good Sam again, but there is a chance I'll have to go to Plainview because my dr is only one guy and if he's already there, he can't be in two places!

Yeah- that was the only good part of my full day class. It really put me at ease to know what it would look like when I got there and what to do! So nice to see the rooms and to see the mommies with their babies!

North Shore Manhassett to the other NSUH mommies- I was on that lower floor with my twins but I had the teeniest room and an unpleasant nurse. On the first day, the supervisor came in to just introduce herself and was like, Oh hell no and moved us upstairs to the 5th floor. It's so much nicer! Request if you can. Rooms are hugggggeeeeeeeee
