I'm not ready at all! I haven't cleared out the baby's room or even started anything for it. I haven't taken any classes. I'm so busy with work and when I'm not doing work I'm too tired to get off the couch.

Feel your pain!! I'm due in 6.5 weeks and we haven't started the room at all- it needs paneling ripped out, dry wall put up, closet redone, tape, spackle, paint, carpet, and a dresser (which I haven't ordered). I'm starting to stress!!

Heres the way I think- it will get done at some point. Baby won't be using the room right away so if its not ready then its not ready.

I plan on having the baby with me for about 3 months in a bassinet so I really won't need the crib.

Tell your DH to get going on the room if you are stressing!!! We still need to redo the floors....ahh.

I keep telling Brian, baby boy will not know what has been done or not done, he'll only know the love we show him.

Had my Growth sono yesterday at 32 weeks exactly; baby is looking good; head down; weighting about 4lbs 6oz already. Based on his height I'm measuring 33w5d; DS#1 came 3 weeks early; would be surprised if this one doesn't do the same.

And SO much hair!! That explains all the heartburn I've been having!

That's great! Minus the heartburn of course. I think my kid's going to come out with braids based on that!

Aw! The tech didn't say if mine had hair- I should've asked! DD1 was born with a full head of hair- all the nurses said, "oooh you must've had bad heartburn," and I never did. This time I do have heartburn- she'll prob be bald, lol.

I keep saying this baby is going to be a hairy little one!

I would love to build a shelf just for my boobs! They are so in the way and put so much pressure on my belly!

We did the Stony Brook hospital tour last night, beautiful place...but I turned to DH after we were out and was like, "Sh!t just got real" lol.
So much of it has been in our heads, through reading and research and buying stuff, seeing the hospital and talking to the nurses really kinda drove home the point of "Hey this is happening!" lol. Crazy stuff. So excited.

That's so exciting! My sister and sil both got married recently so I'm hoping they get going soon! I'd love DD and this new LO to have some first cousins close in age.

Does anyone use Stony Brook OBGYN? I see a lot of you getting growth sonos at 32 weeks. I just had an appointment yesterday at 31 weeks and they said my next sonogram wont be until 35 or 36 weeks. I just wanted to see if this was normal for this practice.

I use Three Village and don't get a growth sono until 36 weeks.

I'm not with that practice, but with my last pregnancy I didn't have a growth sono until 35/36 weeks, so it's not uncommon.

Approaching 34 weeks and I'm so exhausted! I literally can't make it through the day without going into the bathroom and closing my eyes every couple of minutes!

How is everyone feeling???

I sympathize with your exhaustion, Samira! But luckily I'm still feeling pretty good overall, knock on wood! Felt a ton of pressure one day last week, to the point of barely being able to walk, but thankfully it only lasted the one day. The whole last month of my pregnancy with DD1 was like that, so I'm terrified of that happening again!

Finally dug all the baby stuff out this weekend, and got it all washed today. Got the flu shot checked off. I feel a little better that some things are getting done. If only we could come up with a name!

34 week appt on Wed, then I guess we'll be starting our weekly appts soon?! Getting so close!

Overall I feel great, except for most days, I feel the exhaustion too. I had a bit of a burst of energy this weekend, but it flared out this morning as I was up from 2:30am- 5:30am this morning for NO REASON WHATSOEVER...

Still have to get the flu shot, but I got the tdap done at my last visit. Actually just got on the phone with our pcp to schedule Brian's flu-shot & tdap. I'm just going to see if my ob will give me the flu shot tomorrow since I'm going there, last time she said they were only doing high risk patients. Otherwise, I'll just call CVS/Walgreens/Etc and see if they have the preservative free flu shot and get it there.

Feeling exhausted the last few days. DD hasn't napped for a few days so that isn't helping any of us. I'm just shot by the afternoon. Physically though, I feel a little better than I had been. I was having a lot of days where I was just so sore by the end of the day that it hurt to do anything and that has definitely gotten better.

DH has been working hard to finish up projects around the house but we still have a lot of finishing touches in the master bathroom. I can't wait until that's done so I don't have to worry about dust and tools in our room. I started pulling out the baby stuff but not taking out the big things for a few more weeks.

I've been trying to make a dent in my christmas shopping too. Starting to stress about whether or not I"ll deliver by christmas, whether we'll still somehow host christmas eve and how to make that as easy as possible. I can't wait for this week to be over since this month has been so busy. Hoping things calm down and I can get more done. Oh yeah, and we really need to settle on names!

OhBoyorGirl-I wanted to do that this past weekend and didn't get around to it-dig out all the old clothes; gear and start washing! I'm going to try to tackle that this week! Want to have everything washed and folded just in case I deliver early again

Oh wow!! I just looked at the due date list and you're due 12/18. And you're considering hosting Christmas??? hopefully someone else can do it...OR do everything and just have it at your house (clean/cook) a week after delivery you might not be up to it (but I'm sure if would be nice not to have to take the baby out).

I've only purchased Christmas gifts for DS so far. His birthday is Christmas eve so I have to get double! Due 12/11 so this baby should be here well before then (hopefully).

I've been trying to decide how early I should get all those kinds of things done, I haven't washed any of his clothes at all yet. His dresser and crib are both in, but we were trying to wait until the rocker arrived so we only had 1 delivery. I was thinking maybe doing a load of laundry or two in 2 weeks, the weekend of the 16th, which would be 37 weeks, or maybe waiting 1 more week for 38 weeks... I don't know, I don't want to rush but I also don't want to wait until it's too late!

Lol. I don't know if i'm crazy. My dilemma is i'm due a week before christmas but last time I delivered 2 weeks late. It kind of makes me think I'll be a week overdue then as opposed to having a newborn. I want my 2.5 year old to have a good christmas and I don't want to have to go all over to see family. I was thinking maybe I'll make a lasagna and freeze it, make a salad and garlic bread and call it a day. Then I won't have to feel bad if we skip some of the other get togethers. Who knows though, I could be in the hospital then. This baby is already causing trouble!Chat Icon

I would do a load by 36ish weeks for sure (sheets, towell, burp cloths, a few outfits). Also get the sheets on the bed and set up a few things like the swing or rnp or whatever you plan on using once you hit full term. Most clothes you may want to wait on and just take advantage of all your visitors once you get home to wash the rest.

I'll be nice and won't say you're crazy, lol, but you certainly are ambitious! Chat Icon I know what you mean though, DD is already excited about Christmas and Santa and in the back of mind I'm kinda like hmmmm idk what kind of Christmas we'll have with a newborn to worry about bringing out. I can see how hosting would have it's advantages, as long as everyone would know it'd be like "ok, fend for yourselves," lol.

I'd def try to get at least the stuff you'll need for the first few weeks done by 36 weeks. Wash the clothes, stick em in the dresser and forget about them- done. I was a week early with DD1 and I really couldn't get around well at all the last several weeks of my pregnancy- I'd rather have it all done on the earlier side so I don't have to worry about it.
