I just had my 12 week sono! It was so so amazing!!! I was supposed to drink 24 oz of water an hour before the appointment so my bladder would be full but I didn't start drinking until a half hour before. When the tech first started she said my bladder wasn't full enough and I might have to come back. But she started poking around and luckily the baby was in the perfect position to be seen. We got to see it moving around and she got some good pictures. Even though I had seen other LIF ladies post about how much their LO was moving around, DH and I were still so amazed to see our baby kicking and jumping so much. It was such a great moment, DH and I are on cloud 9!
that is great!!! I am so looking forward to my next appointment!!  How far along are you today? I hope we get as much movement since I'll actually be 11w5d when I have the 12 week sono!
You will! Mine were jumping at 10 wks! Lol.
We don't need to do the full bladder at GN, do we? Nobody said anything...
It's so amazing! LO looked like (s)he was climbing and doing tae bo!! In the sonogram picture LO looks like (s)he is standing.
 awesome! I was saying ours looked like the huge inflatable guys w/long wavy arms in front of auto dealerships...and saying "look what I can do!" a la Stuart from MadTV!

Weekend check-in: what's on the agenda?!
We're having my parents over to tell them the news!!
Will probably tell them just that I'm pregnant first to let them absorb that...then a little later tell them it's twins!
I had custom onesies made up as the way to tell them...will try to post pics tomorrow!

I am checking in!!! Had my 12 week scan and it was amazing!!!!!! Little bugger was so active!! It was jumping and bouncing around and even flipped or somersaulted a few times!!!! We saw it open and close it's mouth and later it started hiccuping! Awww! We were smiling ear to ear all day and started spreading the good news!!!!!

Wow that's so cool! We didn't see ours do any flips! Your baby must have had a lot of energy!

Congrats on getting the kitchen done!!! We are hoping to start our dormer extension in a month and I'll have to move out until the major demo is over, so not looking forward to it!!

What I did was actually start a private amazon registry right after my NT u/s last pregnancy (right around 13 weeks I think because I just couldn't wait anymore!!) -- I put lots of things on it that I had heard about and read about, lots of gender neutral things, and stuff I just didn't want to forget.
I went into stores and registered after we found out the gender (which was around 19 weeks). So I had my registering done by around 20-21 weeks. But I added and deleted and changed online a ton.
Best thing you can do is take a BTDT you trust with you! It's amazing how overwhelming it can be!
We also had the baby bargains book that discussed the best products and reviewed stuff, which was helpful.
I'm also happy to look over registries for anyone who wants and give suggestions! There were SO MANY THINGS I didn't register for (and didn't even know I'd need) that I was out buying when DD was 2, 3, 6, 12 weeks old! Some of the best products we got were things I got after she was born, too.

I was thinking I'd start at some point in May, I want to try and do a little at a time so I'm not too overwhelmed....and since I am a crazy overly analytical person I know I will be researching to death before I decide on anything (at least when it comes to the bigger stuff)....so I'll need some time to get it all done! And Sandra I may take you up on glancing over my registry too b/c I know I will have no idea what I'm doing!! I will probably go with DH first for the big stuff, and then all the little things I'll take one of my close friends who have recently had kids.

I'm nervous about the registry too. I think we'll wait until we find out the gender around late May. I'm definitely going to get that Baby Bargains book and read up on products before we go to register. I figure that way we can have a good idea already of what we want. I have some friends that are either pregnant or recently had a baby so I think I'm going to print out their registries for reference. Even though it will probably be overwhelming at times, I am really excited to register and pick out things for my LO!

Aww...fantastic! Did they give you feedback on preliminary NT scan results?
Mine is next week and I almost wish they didn't do it. I wouldn't even be thinking about Down Syndrome if it weren't for the test. Now I'm so nervous about it!

I agree! I told the doc I wasn't really interested in all of the testing b/c no matter the results I wouldn't be doing anything about it, but after discussing w/ her she really recommended it so since DH was on board, I agreed. I am hoping I don't regret it and have any unnecessary worry after the results!! I hear of so many false positives!
congrats on the 12 week sono Sandra!!! Great sono pic!!!
