**Official PP Weight Loss/Support Thread**
I am so glad that people want to do this, since I come to this board for a lot of support and I know how wonderful the mommies of LIF are!!!
Here is what I am thinking-let's start with answering these questions. If anyone else has things to add, please do!!!
Anyone can join. If you breastfeed, formula feed, have a toddler, baby, newborn, school aged child, whatever. The more the merrier!
I feel like this should be a place you can come for support, advice, encouragement, to add something that worked for you, that you learned.
I hope that this will help us all get to where we want to be and help new mommies now and in the future get back their bodies and confidence!!!
So let's do an intro:
1. Name 2. Names and ages of your DCs 3. How much do you want to lose? 4. Specific Challenges you face 5. Things you feel that you can help others with (ex. Re: **Official PP Weight Loss/Support Thread**
I will start
1. Name: Michelle
2. Names and ages of your DCs: Sienna 7 months
3. How much do you want to lose? 35-40 lbs
4. Specific Challenges you face: I EBF a milk allergy baby, so I have a special diet. I have back issues and RA, which sometimes cause me a lot of pain and difficulty working out. DD recently started STTN which helps, but I was experiencing a lot of exhaustion.
5. Things you feel that you can help others with (ex. You are an avid runner, you EBF with a milk allergy): I love to walk, especially with DD. I have been following a strict dairy, soy, nut, seafood free diet since DD was 7 weeks old.
6. Goals of yours (more specific than the number you want to lose): I want a flat stomach. I want to feel confident again and like myself. I want to have stamina and endurance and energy to keep up with my girl. I have my brother's wedding Feb 2012 and I want to be slim for that. I also want to get back into my law school jeans (size 28 waist)
7. Anything else you might want to add: I am in Eastern Suffolk right now (and I shoot back to Boca Raton Florida too). Port Jefferson Station. I am always willing to find a walking buddy! I would also be interested in exercise classes after 6. I do enjoy cooking now and I like to find good recipes!

1. Name: Joanna
2. Names and ages of your DCs: Tyler 6.5 months
3. How much do you want to lose?20lbs 4. Specific Challenges you face: No time to exercise, with working full time and so many HEALTHY foods I gag over!
5. Things you feel that you can help others with (ex. You are an avid runner, you EBF with a milk allergy) I have ALOT of recipes for healthy meals
6. Goals of yours (more specific than the number you want to lose)I want to get rid of this baby belly, its flabby!!!
7. Anything else you might want to add I need lots of motivation, I hate weighing myself, but I think with all us girls who are in the same boat of having babies and REALLY knows how it feels to lose the weight it will be really helpful!
Good Luck everyone!

Re: **Official PP Weight Loss/Support Thread**
This is great!
I have 3 kids, drive a minivan, and will be entering my 30s next year... BUT I refuse to look this way! I am more determined than ever to get back into a bikini.
1. Name - Julie
2. Names and ages of your DCs Landon ~2.5 years Twins (Travis & Kylie) 2.5 months
3. How much do you want to lose? I had 12 ls to lose at 7 weeks post partum. I am now 10 weeks post partum and have 10 lbs left to lose.
4. Specific Challenges you face finding the time to workout with 3 little ones. Everything has to be schedule precisely to make time for me to run. On M-W-F Landon has preschool so I can make time. I have to get all of us up early, I dress & feed all 3 kids, dress myself in my workout clothes, drop Landon off at preschool, come home & put babies in their swings or bouncy seats outside of my exercise room doorway, and run on the treadmill. I usually have an hour to workout and shower before having to feed the babies again. Then I eat quick and have to go pick Landon up. It is tough but so worth it. I feel great after I run and its been 3/4 weeks and I already see a difference in my body. Weekends are easier because DH can watch them and I can get a longer workout in.
5. Things you feel that you can help others with (ex. You are an avid runner, you EBF with a milk allergy) multitasking, running, trying to lose weight without dieting
6. Goals of yours (more specific than the number you want to lose) I want to look hot and be able to wear my little bikinis at the beach next summer. I want to lose remaining baby weight by christmas and tone and firm up between christmas and summer.
7. Anything else you might want to add I am not a member of a gym - yet. All of my exercising is done at home with the kids in site. I keep the babies outside of the door and have a camera for Landon's playroom when he is home. I run 3 days a week anywhere from 2-6 miles at a time, I do crunches and pushups every day, and yoga or pilates DVDs when I don't feel like running.

Re: **Official PP Weight Loss/Support Thread**
1. Debbie 2. Mom to Gianna 3 1/2 and twins boys who are now 3mths old.
3. How much do you want to lose? 10lbs to be back to pre pg weight. At that point, I will decide to see if I can loose 5 more and maintain.
4. Specific Challenges you face- Right now its not having a routine and constantly eating out! I just started going back to work so I hope that I can get into a groove and bring in my lunch. Prepping at nite is hard, with twins boys and being alone since DH works nites.
5. Things you feel that you can help others with (ex. You are an avid runner, you EBF with a milk allergy)- WW since I was a lifetime member prior to getting pg. My plan is to get back!
6. Goals of yours (more specific than the number you want to lose)- Like Julz, I drive a minivan, mom of 3 and am determined to be the HOT mom! LOL! I want to be in better shape. I am not having anymore children so this is my time to get my body back.
7. Anything else you might want to add: Good Luck to all!

Re: **Official PP Weight Loss/Support Thread**
Love this. Just what i need since i've been really thinking/struggling with this issue since DS turned 1 last week.
1. Name: Betsey
2. Names and ages of your DCs: Joshua just turned 1 last week.
3. How much do you want to lose? ideally, 25 pounds but i'll start with 15.
4. Specific Challenges you face I can't find time in the day for working out. I just don't know how to set aside time for myself, it's all DS. Just became a SAHM so maybe that will help.
5. Things you feel that you can help others with (ex. You are an avid runner, you EBF with a milk allergy) - I'm really good at helping others figure stuff out since i'm a clinical psychologist, just can't do it for myself.
6. Goals of yours (more specific than the number you want to lose) - i just feel horrible about myself and now that DS turned 1, i feel like i have no excuse to look this way. I look worse than i did 2 months PP, i gained weight somehow. My clothes don't fit, i feel frumpy and unattractive. I had a csection and have a flabby tummy. I used to be a size 0 at one time. My goal is to feel attractive. It's more than weight though, it's my hair, clothes everything.
7. Anything else you might want to add: I like to cook, just takes me forever so u haven't been doing it. Need some new recipes. I do make all of DS' food though. I live on the south shore of nassau in baldwin.

Re: **Official PP Weight Loss/Support Thread**
Great idea Michelle!!
1. Name: Deena
2. Names and ages of your DCs: ALK, 3 months
3. How much do you want to lose? 5 lbs, but I want my mid-section to be less jiggly!!
4. Specific Challenges you face: Laziness, lol. I try to walk/run a few times a week, which is good, but I am seriously slacking on the food end of things. I used to cook healthy meals, but I have been sooo lazy about cooking.
5. Things you feel that you can help others with (ex. You are an avid runner, you EBF with a milk allergy) Definitely running! Although I have been walking more than running recently, I am starting to run with my jogging stroller and hoping to build my endurance back up.
6. Goals of yours (more specific than the number you want to lose). I really need to get back to healthy eating. Before I got preggo I was psychotic about food. I loosened up when I was preggo and things have just gotten progressively worse. I used to have a rule...I never drank calories (unless it was milk) but now I drink a boatload of juice. When I finish the juice I have in the house, I MUST stop!!!!
7. Anything else you might want to add. Good luck ladies! Thanks again Michelle for starting this!

I just said to DH this morning that my diet starts today, so I guess it is really meant to be...
1. Name Nicole 2. Names and ages of your DCs Gianna 5months 3. How much do you want to lose? 30lbs 4. Specific Challenges you face I work in NYC and have such limited "free time". I hate "working out", but I do love walking 5. Things you feel that you can help others with (ex. You are an avid runner, you EBF with a milk allergy) I did Weight Watchers forever, but don't have the time to do meetings. I know what to do, just have trouble applying it right now 6. Julie, you are my inspiration to get back to running more. I make excuses, like "oh, I don't want to get too sweaty bc what if she needs to eat sooner" (I am BFing and don't want to subject her to my sweaty boobs ) I know I would feel so much better if I was running. Can I ask you...are the babies awake when you are running? Do they just chill in their bouncy seats? I haven't run on the treadmill since DD was born, but maybe I will try it tomorrow...

1. Name: Diana
2. Names and ages of your DCs: Joanna, 6 months
3. How much do you want to lose? realistically 30 lbs
4. Specific Challenges you face: I have a heart condition, so stamina is an issue and working out is difficult, I have to to it in moderation. Also, I'm a FTWM, so finding the TIME to plan healthy meals, and cook them AND workout is TOUGH.
5. Things you feel that you can help others with (ex. You are an avid runner, you EBF with a milk allergy): I eat as if I'm diabetic..it runs in my family, so I'm careful. I was vegetarian, now just eat poultry & fish, so I have tons of "alternative receipes" I've been to a nutritionist, so I know a lot about what's good & bad.
6. Goals of yours (more specific than the number you want to lose): I want a flat stomach. I want to feel confident again and like myself. I want to have stamina and endurance and energy to keep up with my girl. <~~ yup, copied from michelle, cuz that's exactly how I feel!! I also want to look at pics of myself and LIKE the way I look...
7. Anything else you might want to add: I love cooking and changing recipes to make them healthy. I NEED to be held accountable or I won't do it. I need encouragement. I've lost all the actuall baby weight..but I have no idea who's body this is.

I haven't run on the treadmill since Addie was born, but maybe I will try it tomorrow...
If I can do it so can you! It takes a lot of planning. As long as I can start running with 1 hour of them finishing their bottles, I am usually good for another hour. At the 2 hour mark they may start fussing. By 3 hours they need to eat again. Sometimes they are awake but the sound of the treadmill puts them to sleep. Other times, one of them starts screaming. I pause my workout and put the binkies in. If that doesn't work I may have to stop early and I admit, sometimes I can't get my shower until DH gets home from work hours later. Or sometimes it works to my advantage and I see them start fussing so I turn up the speed to try to reach another half mile or whatever, and I end up running faster.
And because I take pictures of everything... here is the view from my treadmill:
Let me know how it goes!!

My question is also to Julie (Julz)-
Any reccs for a good sports bra? I am nursing and besides the back issue, it is hard to do anything with impact because my chest is all jiggly
And go everyone who signed up and those who are already losing a good amount!
I am down over 70lbs from the day I gave birth!

Thank you Michelle for starting this thread!
1. Name - Dina
2. Names and ages of your DCs - Adam, 6.5 months old
3. How much do you want to lose? - 30 lbs
4. Specific Challenges you face - finding time to work out because DH works late, DS doesn't STTN so I feel exhausted all the time, I'm a SAHM and find myself eating more throughout the day than when I was working.
5. Things you feel that you can help others with (ex. You are an avid runner, you EBF with a milk allergy) - I know a lot of Mediterranean recipes which tend to be healthier, used to do South Beach diet so I can help if anyone is looking to follow that diet, and I'm an excellent cheerleader/listener if you want to vent :)
6. Goals of yours (more specific than the number you want to lose) - to feel good about the way I look again, to just be healthier overall, and to find a way to manage my time better.

I'm not Julie, but I'll give you my answer I wear my pre-pregnancy sports bras (Champion...I have a few different ones, but I always but the ones for high impact). They are super tight, but at least I don't jiggle! If I am going to run, I also try to do it within a half hour/45 minutes after a feeding so I am not super full.

Thanks Deena!! I am a DDD right now. Do you think they will be supportive enough or should I wear 2 or something? I was considering Motherhood's nursing sports bra, but it was too flimsy IMO.

Re: **Official PP Weight Loss/Support Thread**
Okay, I wanted to share a cool little exercise that I am doing. I learned this through an email from a site called babyfit that I subscribe to. This is for those with infant DCs, but you can do it with weights too!
Baby overhead presses! I take Sienna and lift her over my head-I do 3 reps of 10-15! It is so much fun! She loves it and laughs her head off, which is an excellent motivator since I love to see her happy! When it starts to burn, I try to do 5 more! My mom said that my arms are starting to look thinner!
