Re: **Official PP Weight Loss/Support Thread**
Thank you Michelle for starting this thread!!! I've been trying to get motivated and I think this will help tremendously!!!
1. Name: Crissy
2. Names and ages of your DCs: Trip, 4.5 months
3. How much do you want to lose? 25-35 lbs
4. Specific Challenges you face: I'm EBFing a milk, soy and egg allergy baby so I'm also on a special diet. DS is also a very needy baby and doesn't like to be put down, and DH works nights so I have no help with dinners. I usually don't get to eat until 9pm, and by then I'm starving and will eat toast or half a bag of pita chips and hummus! I've always had a difficult time figuring out meals, and now with the allergies it's 10x more difficult. Also, laziness!!!
5. Things you feel that you can help others with (ex. You are an avid runner, you EBF with a milk allergy): I've been on a strict no dairy, soy & egg diet for 2 months because of DS's allergies.
6. Goals of yours (more specific than the number you want to lose): Lose the weight before trying for DC #2. Get in shape and I would LOVE to start jogging and eventually running (something I've always wanted to do but never had the stamina or motivation to do it).
7. Anything else you might want to add: I'm in Massapequa and will walk 5 mornings a week if anyone wants a walking buddy! Also, if anyone has easy recipes that are okay with my diet I would be grateful if you sent them my way!
Good luck everyone! I hope we get skinny soon!

My question is also to Julie (Julz)-
Any reccs for a good sports bra? I am nursing and besides the back issue, it is hard to do anything with impact because my chest is all jiggly
And go everyone who signed up and those who are already losing a good amount!
I am down over 70lbs from the day I gave birth!
I'm not Julie, but I'll give you my answer I wear my pre-pregnancy sports bras (Champion...I have a few different ones, but I always but the ones for high impact). They are super tight, but at least I don't jiggle! If I am going to run, I also try to do it within a half hour/45 minutes after a feeding so I am not super full.
Thanks Deena!! I am a DDD right now. Do you think they will be supportive enough or should I wear 2 or something? I was considering Motherhood's nursing sports bra, but it was too flimsy IMO.
Yeah Motherhood's sports bra was like a joke. Right now, I am wearing an F but my sports bras are still D/DD and they are supportive enough for me. Sometimes, I wear a running tank (with a shelf bra built in) over it for some additional support.

Re: **Official PP Weight Loss/Support Thread**
As most know, I am EBFing a milk allergy baby. I wanted to tell everyone about the one kitchen item I can't do without-the George Forman grill!
I often have no time and DD is demanding still. It is so fast and easy to throw a frozen chicken breast or burger on the grill. Pair it with a salad and you have a yummy dinner! I make my own dressing with balsamic vinegar, EVOO, dijon mustard, salt and pepper. DH even loves it!
I also wanted to recommend my favorite cookbook-Skinnygirl Dish by Bethenny Frankel!
I found so many good ideas and recipes that she actually adapts to people on restrictive diets.

Re: **Official PP Weight Loss/Support Thread**
1. Name - Diana
2. Names and ages of your DCs - Jack turned 3 in June, and Tyler will be one in two days.
3. How much do you want to lose? 10 more pounds. I lost 25 with Weight Watchers since April. I was 175 when I had Tyler and I am currently 125. Problem is that it still looks like I have a baby bump. If I gain two pounds my bump goes up. I think 5 more lbs should do the trick, but who knows.
4. Specific Challenges you face - Once I fall off the diet wagon it's hard to get back on. After Tyler's party last week I ate every leftover cookie in sight. I was so strict on WW for so long, and now it's like I've given up and need to start fresh.
I am a HUGE stress eater, and taking care of two little kids is basically nonstop stress.
5. Things you feel that you can help others with (ex. You are an avid runner, you EBF with a milk allergy) - I can help with Zumba information, or WW info.
6. Goals of yours (more specific than the number you want to lose) - Goal is to get my body back before we try to have another child. I also want to stay active with this next pregnancy. I had an extra 15 lbs on when I got pregnant with Tyler, and that is making things so much harder.
This is a great idea.

wait for me!
1. Shana
2. Noah 7m
3. 25lbs
4. I've always been overweight, challenge all my life. Laziness, lack of motivation, and difficulty to focus. I get bored easy, I don't form habits well. I hate running. The gym smells to me, any gym. I've never met a gym that didn't smell.
5. I love to walk.
6. Eat better, get more sleep, be more motivated to cook (when I cook, I cook healthy) Get DH to go on a diet with me!
7. I live in Brooklyn, don't mind making an occasional trek, but doing it on a weekly basis is a bit exhausting on DS.

OMG Diana I am definitely doing the same thing. I am cheating and allowing myself treats WAY too much. I need to get back on the wagon 100%

1. Name: Marci 2. Names and ages of your DCs: Lucy, almost 9 months 3. How much do you want to lose? 25-35 pounds 4. Specific Challenges you face: hypothyroidism (my thyroid has been a little out of whack lately), working mom with little free time and energy, not a huge fan of most vegetables 5. Things you feel that you can help others with (ex. You are an avid runner, you EBF with a milk allergy): I have done WW and am awesome at cheating it but that's not really helpful here, lol. I'm pretty good at changing existing recipes/foods to make them healthier 6. Goals of yours (more specific than the number you want to lose): To wear a bikini and look and feel good about me in it 7. Anything else you might want to add: I would love a workout buddy, but I live in the city where naturally very few LIFers live. I also cannot blame the baby on my weight issues - I am just about at pp weight and currently up from where I was at 3 weeks pp - I actually lost weight from pregnancy because of terrible food aversions. This weight gain has been accumulating for a decade or so and it's been bothering me for that long too. I'd really like to finally get to a good place with my body after being so miserable about it for so long. But between working long hours and the baby and DH, it is hard to find the time and I'm not really willing to sacrifice sleep to exercise so I really need to work on my diet and fitting in some activity on weekends, etc. If only I could find my motivation - hoping you ladies can help!

I second this - I'm not BF, but I am an F and have been for many years. The Champion High Impact are the best - I usually have to double up though to feel really secure.

Do people mind if tomorrow I make a list in the OP of those who are on this thread? Maybe add weight loss goals? Or should we just let people sign up and leave it so in the future others can sign up?
I think this is a great idea and maybe check-ins for those up for it. It tends to help me to be accountable somewhere - for some reason, being accountable to just myself is too much freedom.

Re: **Official PP Weight Loss/Support Thread**
This is such a great idea! Ive been so frustrated with my weight. Its nice to know that Im not alone. Its hard to lose it...especially after a c-section.
1. Name: Corinne
2. Names and ages of your DCs: Jake, 6 months
3. How much do you want to lose? 25-35 lbs
4. Specific Challenges you face: I started exercising again and my body doesnt seem to respond like it used to. I get exhausted easily (especially with my schedule). The c-section put me out of commission for a long while.
5. Things you feel that you can help others with (ex. You are an avid runner, you EBF with a milk allergy): 12 years ago I lost 70 pounds and kept it all off until i had Jake. I know all about WW and can help motivate people as well.
6. Goals of yours (more specific than the number you want to lose): Because of the section, i would love to get rid of the belly!
7. Anything else you might want to add: I live in bellmore and although i cant go walking during the day (working) I would love to do something on the weekends...
Thanks for doing this thread!! Good luck everyone!!

4. Specific challenges you face: I never seem to work out. I tend to eat very healthy at all times, but I'[m still huge. I know if I worked out for a half hour a day or more, then it would melt away. I've done it in the past, but I just have no energy to do it....
5. Things you feel that you can help others with (ex. You are an avid runner, you EBF with a milk allergy): I have lost alot of weight in the past....only packed it all on again once my Father passed away. I know the exercise is key, and so is eating right.
6. Goals of yours (more specific than the number you want to lose): I want to be healthy. I want to be able to look at pictures and not feel like I'm a whale anymore.
7. Anything else you might want to add: I just need someone to push me each day... Like ask me....did you work out today? LOL. DH tries, but being at work all day it's easy for him to forget LOL.

Re: **Official PP Weight Loss/Support Thread**
Okay ladies!! We are up and running!!!
Also, everyone should feel free to post inches lost, sizes lost, before and after pics. Anything to keep motivated! Plus we want to reward ourselves for losing by showing off!
I think for me, and I am sure everyone else, we have to remember this is a marathon and not a race, and we want to make these healthy changes permanent!
I personally want to use this thread to be accountable. If I know I have to post, it motivates me. Same if I have to post about falling off the wagon!
Thoughts?

1. Name-- April
2. Names and ages of your DCs- --dd is almost 10 months
3. How much do you want to lose?-- I'll start with 50 lbs but can go for more
4. Specific Challenges you face- I'm a FTWM and I'm out of the house early and by the time I get home I'm exhausted. We are the pickiest eaters in the world and it sucks. It's hard to eat healthy in my house.
5. Things you feel that you can help others with (ex. You are an avid runner, you EBF with a milk allergy)--? lol
6. Goals of yours (more specific than the number you want to lose)--I want to be as skinny as I was when I met dh. I promise if that happens I will NEVER complain about being fat ever again. I also don't want to be plus size anymore.
7. Anything else you might want to add-- I'm a big girl to begin with. During my pregnancy I lost 22 lbs and pp I had lost 40 total. I hadn't been that skinny in YEARS. I felt great. I have since gained it all back and I'm back to my prepregnancy weight. I would like to start to ttc again sooner than later and this extra weight sucks. I too want to be healthy for my dd.

Great idea! Thanks for starting this Mich! 1. Name: Katie 2. Names and ages of your DCs: Evan 9 months 3. How much do you want to lose? 10-12 lbs 4. Specific Challenges you face: I am BF and my appetite is off the charts. I never feel full and since having him I have a horrible sweet tooth. I don't keep any treats in my house, but I am surrounded by bakeries. There is even one behind my house that makes my whole house smell like cookies. I also am on my own with DS. By the time I get time for a run it is 9 at night, and I am just too tired to put on my sneakers and go. 5. Things you feel that you can help others with (ex. You are an avid runner, you EBF with a milk allergy): I am very active and a nutrient junky, I can help in either area. 6. Goals of yours (more specific than the number you want to lose): To eat smaller portions and get my control back. I feel like I have no self control over treats and portions anymore. 7. Anything else you might want to add: Losing these last 10 lbs has been hell for me. I am determined to lose them by February. Looking at this extra weight is really starting to depress me.

Sounds good to me! I definitely recommend taking pictures (even f you don't share them) for 2 reasons: 1: seeing how bad you look in a picture is good motivation 2: easier to see your progress over time

I'd love to be a part of this
1. Eileen 2. Jax, 4.5 months 3. at least 30 lbs 4. I am on a no dairy/soy diet, don't see how I can budge my diet any further since I eat super healthy. My DS has been sleeping horribly lately so I have no energy for anything but walks! 5. I EBF and am on a no soy/dairy diet. I am getting creative w/the recipes if anyone needs ideas 6. I want to feel better about myself, I want some resemblance of my pre-baby body. I want to wear cute clothes again and feel good in them!! 7. Thank you so much for doing this, great idea!

Re: **Official PP Weight Loss/Support Thread**
1. Name: Wendy
2. Names and ages of your DCs: Ann is 15 months
3. How much do you want to lose? 60lbs would be ideal
4. Specific Challenges you face Working full time and my age … I've never been "in shape" (although I was THIN until I hit 35) and I am physically exhausted every day caring for a toddler (even in the small amount of time we have during the week! Weekends really just kill me and it makes me sad). I know the age thing sounds silly but I just feel like I’ve been lazy for so long that it’s hard to turn that around (when I’m out of shape and have old lady aches & pains – LOL)
The other “challenge” is continuing to eat like I’m pregnant or like a 6’5” man (my DH).
5. Things you feel that you can help others with Hmm ... nothing really! I’m usually a quitter! Wait, I do have unopened Zumba DVD’s I can give someone! LOL!
6. Goals of yours (more specific than the number you want to lose) I want to feel less drained and want to want to be in pictures with Ann (now I avoid it like the plague!)
7. Anything else you might want to add I weighed myself for the first time in a long time and am only ten pounds less than when I was nine months pregnant. I almost threw up. Downloaded Couch to 5K app over the weekend and even though I was home sick on Monday, because it was so gorgeous out, I did the first day pushing Ann in the stroller! And I did day 2 last night, in the dark after dinner, again pushing the stroller. I bagged up clothes in sizes I haven’t been in YEARS over the weekend too. I think it helped mentally. I guess the saddest part is most of the stuff I packed up, I can remember being completely depressed when I had to buy the size 10’s (you know going into double digit depression!!) … and those were the SMALLEST size I bagged.
