TOTALLY remember that! You would walk in and there would be mosquito netting all over the place!!
I remember
-Playworld -being so excited getting my Kodak disc camera -making emergency breakthroughs with the operator all the time to friend's lines since there was no call-waiting -HATING that my best friend's number started with 889 - KILLER on the rotary dial! -10 cent phone calls -TSS store -smoking on airplanes -45 records -holding my yellow SONY boombox up to the radio or to Mtv to tape a song and being all pizzed when the radio dj would talk through the whole intro -when the Wizard of Oz came on every year and it was a big night -going to my parent's friend's house because they had the first cable movie channel - I think it was called WHT?

Re: OLD things you remember
When my mom was in college, people smoked in class. That was during my lifetime. She got her degree when I was little.
Another memory--Cassingles--Cassette Singles that were sold in record stores. They were near the register b/c they made good impulse purchases. My friends and I were talking about Cassingles on New Years' Eve.

When you actually had to get up to change the channel on the TV.
I would lay on the floor and my mom would go next, next, next...
She would flip out if I spun the dial really fast.
omg --I remember this!! also, Rotary telephones!!
