Re: OLD things you remember
Don't know if anyone mentioned it...
Rotary Phones...
DH And I bought one from ebay for fun, and now it is our primary phone...a real PITA when a phone number has a lot of 9s.
And speaking of phones...
I remember when all 5 boroughs were 212 area code...
I also remember when you did not have to use an area code to call within the same one...

They were these pants that were made of a flannel like material. How about Nike Pumps? Going to Friendly's after concerts Levittown roller rink How about Laces? I actually had a birthday party there. Puttin on the Ritz was such a cool song and so was AbraCaDabra
My parents still have my Atari 2600 at home and man I loved playing Indian Jones on it.
Garbage Pail Kids
YMCA was a cool place to hang out.
When there was no answering machines
Back when automatic seat belts were cool
I remember cars before they became fiber glass
No one owned SUVs
I remember 'driving' the station wagon while sitting on my dad's lap
Seat belts without shoulder restraints
Big League Gum was a rage
Raves! when they first came out
"New Wave" music
*ahem* Neon
When KFC was Kentucky Fried Chicken
Before contacts were made
"Regular" Gas vs Unleaded
Long Distance was painfully expensive and delayed
I also remember the TVs in the waiting chairs at airports and bus stations.
I remember everything being closed after a certain time of night.
I remember Movies when they were $4
I drove for years with gas under $.75
"Pay TV"
-------
Hubby just added Freezer Freakies but I have never heard of them
I was in 7th grade when Challenger blew up. We all watched it in the library.

I remember freezy freakies. They were gloves that had a part that changed color. Mine had red hearts. Someone mentioned Woolworth's for lunch. I used to love having breakfast there. It was so cheap! I forgot about Garbage Pail Kids too. How about Pogs?

Rockbottom BusyBee flea market! hmm what was the name of that toy store that was on Jerusalem Ave that was turned into Rock Bottom... Mays Dept Store (Mays not Macy's! )
I was just talking about this with my mom. The toy store was Playworld. Then it became a flea market. I remember Mays, but Im older. I remember the South Gate condo when they were a shopping center. I also remember Korvettes in the Sunrise Mall. Woolworths too! Jordache Jeans, the tighter the better. Sweet Honesty
My mom was an Avon Lady for years....and my sister still wears Sweet Honesty!!!
