pack and play & sleeping bag questions- advice?
So we unfortunately have to visit my in-laws more often than I'd like. DH and I & DD share a room. We sleep on an air mattress and DD sleeps in a pack and play. However she is a little over 2 and the pack and play seems to be getting very small for her. I worry she will be uncomfortable soon. Typically, when do kids grow out of or stop using a pack and play? What can I use next since there is no room for a regular bed or cot for her. Would a sleeping bag be an okay option? What other options might I have?

I have a toddler cot. It takes up less room than a pnp.
Eta we bought the cot May of 2013 and DS was about 1 yr 4 months at the time.

We looked at the cot and were going to try it this summer but I was worried she'd roll off. We ended up sticking with the pnp and she slept fine in it (she's now 2.5). Now that she's in a toddler bed I don't know how she would react to the pnp. A friend is getting her a pottery barn nap mat for christmas so we'll try that. It's pretty small, but cushioned on the bottom so she can sleep on it on the floor hopefully (we also share a tiny room when we visit ILs). DH mentioned some self inflating thin mat we can get to put under it if it's not thick enough but I can't remember what they're called.

MY DS is the craziest sleeper ever and is all over the cot and has never fallen out....but he has fallen out of a twin bed where only the foot of the bed is completely open....and he has done it multiple times. The cot isn't that far off the ground so even if they did fall they would never get hurt.
The inflatable mat is a camping mat. I used them back int he day before air mattresses and it doesn't really give any cushion. Save your money and just put a comforter under it.

We bought DD this air bed for visiting in laws and she likes it. Shes 2.5 but very tall and didnt fit in the p&p anymore. She should be able to get a few years use from it. Watch Amazon as the prices do fluctuate, I usually put things in my cart and check back to see if the price dropped.

Do you have a mattress in the PNP? I have this one. It is great, and super cheap. Ship one to your IL's and have them store it. You can just throw this on the ground next to your airbed and she can sleep on it. mattress
