Understandable. But, think of all the things we did growing up. I'm sure that none of us (even the good ones) always followed our parents wishes. It doesnt mean that we were 'out of control' or bad kids, OR that our parents sucked or were incapable... it was just kids being kids. My dad said i couldn't date until i was 40. I really showed him!  So, i hope he never runs for office now!

Actually I think that since she IS pro-life and has been a part of two very difficult decisions that ended in life - it could be seen as she is actually living her beliefs instead of just preaching them.
She isn't anti-sex, just pro-life, LOL.

Personally, I care about their personal lives - when you're running our country I don't believe there is such thing as a personal life. To me, it matters.

I have read a few sources that label her as pro contraception though, that was the impression that I got - not that she was just advocating abstinence?

To see it how the media will...look at how Bush's daughters are a constant source of attention when they do things "wrong" ....she will be living in that spotlight now. Beacuse of how her mother would be the first Female VP makes it more interesting then if it was a male VP IMO too.

See, i look at it this way.
You're a generous person, Rach. You're always trying to promote helping one another. Imagine you're running for office and that's your platform. trying to change the way people see each other- trying to get everyone to help their fellow man. Then imagine Ava is a teenager and does some stupid teenage thing that teenagers do.. basically kicking someone while they're down. Does that mean that everything you've spent years fighting for is worthless? does that mean that you shouldnt even be heard b/c of something like that, or that youve worked hard to do should be completely undone? That's how i look at this. Her kid messed up- that doesn't mean that she's a fraud b/c of it.

i dont think your seeing what people are saying correctly. NO ONE said she was a fraud. I respect her convictions....I think she threw her daughter under the bus. Lost my respect there, and I think that what happened with her daughter will make many not convinced she can thus encourage millions to follow her lead.

No, I totally see what you're saying and I agree with you! But I just don't think Bill Clinton is the best comparison for the situation, just because it's not really the same. Plus, as for Palin, it's not HER who had sex out of wedlock and is bringing a child into this world, it's her daughter, who's not running for VP. Basically, I am agreeing with you in some assbackwards way of mine

well it's my guess that her daughter is already showing - and she will obviously only show more and more from this point forward.
I think she's going to withdraw as a VP choice. that's my bet

I don't see how she threw her under the bus- some stupid site started a rumor, tons of people subscribed to the idea, and she dispelled the rumors by sharing the truth. If she would have denied any PG, she would have been labeled a liar. HOW long can you keep a pregnancy a secret anyway? It was going to come out- why not straight for the horses mouth.. especially given that rumors were already starting.

as a Mother if it were me, i would not have said a word to anyone ...I would have protected my daughter as long as humanly possible from the media. Thats why I feel that way. Its just my opinion.

Quite honestly, it's a lose/lose situation. If she wasn't upfront about it, people would criticize her and they're still criticizing her for being upfront. What can the woman do? Her kid is knocked up, she can't really hide it forever, so she came out and said it. Good for her. Again, what's baking in her daughter's oven is none of my business, nor is it anyone else's.
Bush's daughters were caught drinking underage in bars. Geez, our current president has a not-so-savory past. Everyone has something in their closet. EVERYONE.

I guess if I wanted to be a PITA I could say that just bc she doesnt promote BC in schools doesnt mean that she is against BC in general - but I am losing steam here LOL!
I agree I think she would as VP push more B/C then she has previously, but Im just showing what people will say. That above interview is all over the internet already.
I may not agree, just proving what I "think" is gonna happen media wise.
