We have his 4 month appointment in mid-April. When we pick him up to soothe him, he falls asleep so easily in our arms. When we try to put him back in the crib, he wakes up right away or tosses and turns until he wakes up a short while later. He acts fine other than this so I don't think he's sick. He's obviously tired b/c he just slept for over 4 hours in the swing. I just think he really doesn't like his crib. Chat Icon

My DS is the same way... DD sleeps in the crib great, but DS does everything you describe... he sleeps in the swing, so we let him sleep in there. This way we all get sleep. Its not the ideal situation, but it works. I figure he will eventually outgrow the "I hate the crib" stage. We will just keep trying the crib until it works.

It's nice to know that others have gone through this. I keep thinking that we're doing something wrong since he's sleeping for such short stretches. I'll try your suggestion. Thanks. Chat Icon

You're not doing anything wrong. Try to remember that the crib is HUGE compared to the womb, and can be overwhelming to a baby - even at 3+ months of age. That might be why DC is sleeping in the swing - it smaller and confined.

Hang in there. SweetCin told me when I was going through the same thing that all of a sudden one day DD would sleep - as if a switch was flipped. I found it a bit hard to believe - but she had BTDT so I kept repeating "this won't last forever" to myself - and sure enough Cindy was right. DD did start sleeping in her bassinet - and then in her crib instead of DH's arms.
